Heard last night that the Native Americans burned like 400,000 acres a year in controlled burns in California currently California burns 50,000 to 75,000 acres in controlled burns sure Population or Environmentalist HAS A LOT TO DO WITH IT... I did some digging, I dont see any 2024 stats. The USFS shared their number, thats state wide, the other "treatments" are mechanical. Depending on the area this could be thinning timber stands or it could be cutting/mulching brush. Those are fairly large numbers... November 20, 2024 — The U.S. Forest Service successfully treated over 325,000 acres for forest health on national forests in California during the 2024 fiscal year. This includes over 72,000 acres of prescribed burning alone. The previous U.S. Forest Service record for prescribed fire was set in 2018 when 63,711 acres were treated. This marks significant progress toward the USFS target of deploying 150,000 acres of beneficial fire in California’s Strategic Plan for Expanding the Use of Beneficial Fire. Sadly for me anyway. I don’t believe anything that comes from an official source. I think I’m justified… I don't know for sure. I don't think its healthy to completely dismiss all information, though I agree that it may be challenging to filter what is accurate from what is not, especially from today's media sources. It's clear that media sources cater to what their listeners WANT to hear, no what they NEED to hear. This is kind of like calculating covid deaths. Its quite irrelevant the cause for annual death rates in the years 2020-2023, but the hard fact remains, there were more death certificates issued globally than the years before and after. So call it what you want, it doesn't have to be covid. It can be whatever, maybe it was just extra motor vehicle accidents, but I kind of think it wasnt. How it was dealt with, the shutdowns, the masks, the jabs, that was all stupid smoke and mirrors.

He's about 300 miles from the fires. Not sure where bshort lives but it's in CA. The guy that posts all the pictures he takes is in CA too. He posts in bass fishing too. Can't recall his name but he is an actual photographer. I hope all are OK and safe right now.

From Grok did people lose home insurance in California recently ?
Yes, people in California have recently lost their home insurance. Several major insurers like State Farm, Allstate, and Farmers have either stopped writing new policies, significantly limited where new policies are available, or non-renewed existing policies across the state due to various factors including the increased risk of wildfires, rising reconstruction costs, and regulatory constraints on rate increases. This has led to many homeowners either facing much higher premiums or turning to the California Fair Access to Insurance Requirements (FAIR) Plan, which offers basic fire insurance but at a higher cost. The situation has been described as a deepening insurance crisis, with some homeowners finding it difficult or extremely expensive to secure coverage, particularly in high-risk areas.

Remind me of why someone would want to live there? Thats wild if that's true.

Yesterday they were saying there was at least $10 billion in damage and that's just a start.

They’re probably not talking about that much on the libtard networks. They regulated the insurance companies from raising their rates on fire insurance, so they all just said screw it, we won’t offer fire insurance. They can probably still get water damage insurance, seeing as how they don’t have any water.

They can probably still get water damage insurance, seeing as how they don’t have any water. I know for the last several years, maybe the first time I saw it was around 2015, the insurance companies were hiring their own contracted fire engines/crews to go and make sure the insured homes were protected. They were working independently of the other crews assigned to the fire. The reality of things is when these fires emerge, and resources/crews are limited, crews have to triage homes and protect the ones that are able to be saved with limited resources. Too many idiots out there don't prepare for these sorts of events. If you have pine needles on your roof, or around your house, you shouldn't. If i lived out west, or somewhere prone to wildfires, I would live somewhere I could have a well, and I would have a significant sprinkler system that I could activate to protect my property. Heck Ive been to communities that have these installed, the government paid for them.
