When I’ve been there we used a lot of swimming pools, but water isn’t the cure, unfortunately

So it's the terrain combined with Amber's and rapid spreading sounds like a logistics nightmare for the brave men and women fighting this....

I’ve been down there a few times in the fall when these winds are blowing with a crew. Between LA co and Cal fire they have a lot of skill protecting structures a lot of times 20 person crews will work alongside them to do clearing and improvements around houses, sometimes deploying sprinkler systems. Burning out around houses ahead of the main fire getting there, etc.

You’ll probably continue to see the fires increase in size until dozer lines get put in on ridges that are advantageous for crews to burn off, that can take a lot of time. These fires often get fought with indirect attack, burning out, and holding.

Contrary to a lot of the negatives in the news,California is quite well equipped to fight these sorts of fires, they have skilled fighters, they employ quite aggressive tactics to include running helicopters with buckets at night, something not done anywhere else in the world. Contrary to what trump is twittering, there are a good amount of aerial resources assigned down there, including some Canadair 215’s the scooper planes, that are quite effective in that area of brush.

I’m not sure what to think about the empty fire hydrants and whatever, that seems strange. Newsom and the mayor certainly aren’t going to do anything. I remember when Arnold came out to a fire we were on, what a clown show, but good for morale, haha.

I don't think you understand the corruption levels when it comes to water in Calif . Norcal VS SoCal etc.... Look up the connection between the Resnick family and Two former Governors ---Pat Brown and his kid Jerry.
4 large AG corporations control most of SoCal water diverted from Norcal . In fact , the corruption was so bad --secret deals were purposely hidden under lock and key for decades and still are . PBS did a special a few years ago and it was scary . The corruption levels in calif are insane and it's all pay to play and has been for decades . add in stupid politicians and you have insane scenario's currently playing out .

Ok - but water isn’t what is going to stop these fires, there is enough water. Firefighters are great at moving water, there are folda tanks, water tenders, plenty of water around, if there are some broken fire hydrants a fire crew will quickly adapt and overcome.

Let’s not forget there are millions of people living in so cal, are they living without water? It’s not like there is no water.

Now Hollywood's on fire. The fires won't stop as long as the winds blowing.

Just imagine the reverse of what is typical when a wildfire starts. 1000s of wildfires start every year on the upper 1/3 of a slope, they for the most part stay up there because the stong prevailing afternoon winds are upslope and upvalley. Sure burning debris can roll down the hill but for the most part the fast spread of the fire is uphill.

So in this scenario in LA, almost all of the houses and people are on the lower 1/3 of the slope and when the fire starts above, the winds this time of year are very strong downslope, so you have a fire that is burning downslope straight towards the communities with the wind, and then also burning upslope eventually with the topography.

Add to it that its brush, fire moves fast, and its challenging for firefighters to suppress, even when the winds settle.

I means goats will eat anything, it couldn’t hurt. You’d probably need to fence them in and make them around to places that would help fire fighters in the future, when the next fire starts.

I know over in NV they have a lot of wild horses, and for whatever reason they make huge piles of poop, pooping all in the same place in big piles, what a fun job that is putting those things out.

It’s just a massive all around mess. If people didn’t build their homes in these areas it would certainly help. These are the same people that want nothing to do with prescribed burning when the conditions are good to do that…

The best thing to do would just be to not live in those areas or just be willing to hop in the car and let all your stuff burn down it’s like hurricane, too many people wait too long.

If y’all would all make a trip up and down the PCH just one time, this would all make a lot more sense. Start in San Fran and go all the way down to LA. See Malibu. Then break off into the Hollywood hills. Then there would be no more questions. I still haven’t figured out how the hell they built all these homes in these areas. Pepperdine university has the most beautiful view of any school on earth, built right into the side of a damn mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Nothing to see?

Saying nothing says everything you need to know about her.

Reminds me of Joe Biden.

You know, says nothing….
