Years ago, I could see inside a kitchen of local restaurant and they had this deal that did this, there were 10 or less than full bottles that were draining into a funnel type thing that consolidated the ketchup into one bottle - gag.

That is a standard practice. If they do not have ketchup in foil packets or in a pump (shout out In N Out) they are doing that.

And yet, some how, we are all still here. We all made it. Amazing. Its almost like we were designed to live in close quarters with other humans. Spreading germs to each other and what not to make our immunity better.

Ketchup bottles and salt shakers... get a grip. You should probably use a napkin anytime you open a door if you are worried about pepper shakers.

Not any longer - this is why you only see disposable ketchup "bottles". One and done.

It used to be you'd combine the ketchup bottles - there was a percentage of ketchup that grew old and went bad because it never got changed out. This led to an outbreak of illnesses traced back to this practice. I think that went away years ago.

That which doesn't kill you just makes you stronger.

We've become a nation of germaphobes and sometimes I wonder if being that way causes more harm than good. Getting exposedto germs over time strengthens the immune system.

Probably but I’m still going to opt out on eating someone else’s saliva just to prove I’m a tuff sob

It's not about proving toughness. It might however significantly increase the germ fighting ability of your immune system and reduce the frequency or severity of a sickness.

this if I was going to die from swapping spit with a girl. I would have been dead a long time ago.

I am not a dirty nasty person but I have eaten my share of mud pies as a kid, so to speak

I’ve never had a meal at a restaurant that needed additional seasoning.

I never took the covid shot and I never got really sick form having it three times. I agree with Mark being to clean isn't necessary good either, but I don't really want to eat after someone licked my fork either. I am just not going to freak out over some little stuff.

just my .02

How about the grinder style salt and pepper mills in eateries? They take two hands to operate, double the germs.

If you are grinding on your salt shaker, then you've got a whole other set of problems.

Times have certainly changed.
When we were kids...
"Mumps is going around"
We'd get thrown outside, hurry up and catch it so we get over it faster.

We've grown into a very weak society with very little immunity.
