I think we'll see a lot of trails take a little hit this year. I'd bet a good amount of anglers are self employed. One of my good buddies in the home building industry went from just over 400 home starts in 2023 to right at 50 in 2024. I think you'll see people have to make some personal decisions on where they spend their money this year. I think that'll be the biggest driver if there's a decline in tournament participation. Groceries and utility bills are big ticket items nowadays… Exactly! We're paying way more for less and things like tournaments are taking a hit. I heard it several times last year.

Looks like Outlaw numbers were down too on Rayburn. Not sure what they had last year.

... Have you ever fished in Texas? Not trying to be funny…..but we have had over 22 pounds three fish bags in 3 hour evening tourneys a few times. Biggest was 28 pounds three fish. I was about 50 yards from them all night and I zeroed This was on a not very good lake. Made me think about selling my boat that night. Sure have... Hope to be down of Rayburn in a couple of weeks... Have you ever fished Ohio???... 5 fish 7lbs. is the normal... Hell you can fish a 5 or 6 tournament trail and not catch 28lbs total for the whole season... Catch a 10lb sack and you're golden... It's all relative... One trip to Rayburn I caught and 8.7 and a 7.5 0n back to back cast. Boy was I stoked!!!... Took them back to the dock and asked the owner if it was Ok to use his scale. Everyone gathers around as I'm pulling them out of the livewell. Once everyone got a look they all just walk away... I weigh them, release them,go to the cabin to put stuff away and head over to the restaurant for supper. As I walk in the owner comes over and says those scales are for fish 10lbs and above, don't be bringing those dinks to the scale... We sat there and talked for awhile, I explained to him that either of those bass would have won a tournament on the Ohio River so I was damn proud of them... The 8.7lber is still my personal best...
