I forgot about those. My Dad had one on the bench seat in his Impala. I think it was like a 68. Wonder what that would be worth today.

He collected Impalas and El Caminos. Just parked them in the back yard. My Momma did not like it but we had fun playing "Dukes of Hazzard" in them.

I had one in my 79 Ford F100.
Very handy. Had that indian blanket look to it.

I still have my rifle rack in my garage on a shelf. I've had one since before I had my license.

I got my sons this for Christmas this year.

I had one in my last company truck for my hard hat before I retired.

My first vehicle, a Ford F-150, had the rack and the bench seat cover that had the slide-in pouch and it was an Indian pattern motif. By 1990 in Grand Prairie, gone were the days of being able to have your shotgun or rife on the rack but the pouch was perfect. Many was the time my best friend and I had our rifles and shotguns in the truck on a Friday, waiting for lunch so we could leave early and head to the deer lease near Patillo off of 281.

This stuff was long gone by the time I got to HS. We had maybe one or two guys that had gun racks but that was it. Sometimes had guns sometimes didn't.

To my knowledge nobody left their vehicles unlocked. And this was the country (I graduated with 50 kids in a small farm town).
