Taking the waders down to Rockport this weekend. Any tips on tips/techniques for this time of year down there? Will just be walking in where I can.

Wind direction is your guide. You want to stay in flat clear water.

I don't wadefish, but if the wind is East or South, there's lots of places. If it's North, not so much. The forecast is for E & S, till Sunday nite, then a cold front will turn it North(and cold!). Several of the Aransas Pathways kayak launches have good wadefishing: Port Bay Club Road, Airport Road, Murph Park. Fishing's good right now. My wife is a Wax native. IslandJim

This time of year really jacks up a bass guys brain. When it's overcast and low sky your bass brain tells you the fish are shallow, when the sun gets bright fish move deeper. The fact is, that's exactly opposite this time of year in the bay.

Today was a prime example of winter fishing.
At 8 or so trout were hanging about 3-4 feet around scattered shell
By 10:30 they were a foot deep and super aggressive. Watching them wake six feet to attack a sand eel was a lot of fun.

I hope you got your fishing in, sure as heck wouldn't want to try to battle it today.
