Happy wife, happy life. If you can afford it, buy it. Yep. Do it. If you are looking at them, you can afford it. You’re wife is worth every penny, and you know that. Pull the trigger.

Maybe show her how much insurance is for a $70k car Price of the car doesn’t dictate the price of insurance. Progressive quote for first six months for a 2025 Yukon, an introductory offer that is double what I pay now for a 2005 Yukon. It will definitely be more for the next six months.

Vehicle prices are ridiculous. It’s more likely to get worse than better. They are a “want” not a “need”. If you want one and have the money get what you want. Overall transportation should be a pretty small part of your budget. It’s probably the thing most, outside of the money is no object crowd, are over what they should be spending. If you able to do things like take a nice vacation each year then you probably have more vehicle than you should or you just aren’t making enough.
Add in that interest rates are up and it’s a double whammy. When interest was low there was really no reason to put cash into a vehicle.
At least she isn’t looking at the $100K plus ones. Plenty of them out there.
You can’t take it with you.

First determine the exact make and model that she likes then internet shop pre owned vehicles. You’ll get a great vehicle and save a pile.

On insurance the minimum Texas limits are only for those that don’t have assets to protect. No assets, no savings is the no insurance crowd. Millions of them out there. At work it’s more common these days that the other driver involved in the accident doesn’t have insurance than those who have insurance.

If you buy the car you can have a 3some. Hop in the car and get it done while the car price/decision is screwing you too.

She deserves a new car, but geez, the ones she’s wanting are in the $70-80k neighborhood. I just can’t bring myself to spend that kind of dough but I’d really like to have sex again, so what’s a guy to do? OT wisdom, save me here! Certified used with less than 3000 miles. Tell her you'll take her on a trip with some of the money you save over buying brand new.

For that price there better be some special sex involved and not just one time? In reality, there still won’t be any sex, not even once.

Show her the list of things you would be saying "no" to if you say "yes" to the new car.

If you haven't said no already, then it's not really up to you.
