My wife got several 5 digit bonuses from the place she used to work. She got enough in bonuses to pay for our property and 1/3 of our house. Me I got a frozen turkey. Wife with a 5 digit bonus is a plus for sure.

I make a lot of money for my company so YES, every year that I make them millions they break me off a good chunk or I won’t make them millions anymore. My salary keeps me showing up thru the year, the bonus keeps me coming back. To hell with company keeping it all for the few fat cats at the top, share or I go elsewhere. Pretty easy formula for all.
Merry Christmas.

Its been a long time since I worked for anyone. In my corporate time we went from 1 percent of your annual salary, to a Ham, mine got lost in mail so it was a 8 day old room temp ham...., we did a carving knife set once, logo glasses, logo bourbon glasses, a couple of different jackets with the logo, a laptop case with the logo, a backpack with the logo. Lol. When I had reached the point of sitting at the table with the big boys and had no fear of being fired as that would have been extremely expensive I brought up the issue and was told the reason for not giving money was the the idea that the managers made plenty of money the company felt like the managers would prefer to have something to remember the experience of being part of something..... did they emboss TEAM on it?

I gave out $500 gift cards this year and didn't get a single thank you, better to give than receive I suppose.

I always gave out about a two week paycheck for their christmas bonuses for most and three weeks for managers. I found the best workers ,for me always thinked me, the others not so much, they thought they were owed the money.

The worst thing I thought were the laptop bags. Most of the assistants made like 30k a year back then and laptops were still real expensive. So they had a bag for something they could not afford to buy lolz

We get a production bonus every week that this year has ranged from 150% to as high as 275% of our hourly wage with overtime, that includes "salaried" employees as well. It's been a good year!

True, bonuses come after the new year when the numbers are settled.

We’re an employee owned Consulting Firm , seven employees / owners, our bonus is splitting the end of year profits at ratio of your yearly billings. Typically our highest earner will pick up an additional end of year check around 300k. We elected to refinish and refurnish the office and upgrade computers. Last weeks projection, we are splitting maybe $100,000+ this year. sounds like the top earner boned the rest of ya It usually changes every year, so it is no big deal. Thankfully we’re all good friends, there is no jealousy

$15.00 gift card then make us pay tax on it as income.
