Graham and I fished December 2nd and 3rd, both beautiful days from noon to 4 PM, and caught 85 and 71, respectively. The vast majority were large white bass. We also caught 3 hybrids - 2 legal - and Graham caught a 21-inch 6 lb black bass. Fish are on both shallow (12 to 18 fow) and deep (20 t0 25 fow) structures, which included Long Ridge West, 3-Jug Hump, Merimac Point, Iron Wall Hump, Greenhouse Ridge, Birdhouse Point, and Number 13 Hump. Best lure is Mepps #4 jerk started along the bottom. Graham's 6 lb black bass:

Today I did a scouting run by myself. I found fish and caught limits at Iron Wall Hump, and Spillway Hump and caught another limit split between The Rock Pile and Enchanted Isle Ridge and left still catching fish. The vast majority are big white bass (14 to 16 inches). They could be caught casting to them or fishing vertically over them. Fish were in 16 to 20 fow, and I did best with three different lures: a regular Mepps#4, a half oz willow bladed Mepps spinner, and a Mepps/Martin (swapped the Mepps 4 blade out for a heavier Panther Martin size 5 blade).

That's really cool... I tell this to people to help them understand those big girls (Green fish). On Grapevine 3 of the top 4 largest bass I have caught on the lake were caught while sandbass fishing. Oddly enough I had the thunper going as well. Those big bass get big for a reason, they are out in open water on humps and ledges. Very cool report, God Bless you "you are good people"! That's an old saying from my neck of the woods.

12/09/2024: Friend, William called to see if I was going to fish today. I wasn't sure until the weather cleared, and we went out about noon and fished until 4 PM. We caught 77: 71 white bass, a 19 inch hybrid, 3 short hybrids, a black bass, a catfish. We caught them at Long Ridge West, 3-Jug Hump, Dollhouse Point, Game Warden Hump, and Spillway Hump. We caught some straight down in 16 to 23 fow and some casting and retrieving in 10 to 18 fow. Mepps #4 was the best lure by far.
