I stopped and changed boots and FR's many times in that parking lot where that box car is laying on it's side, Them trees there is the grave of Clay Allison.

Sad deal for Pecos and all involved. Pecos looks like it did in the 60's and 70's One reason is they did not build a loop for truck traffic like almost all small towns did in this part of the country. Truck traffic goes down through town.

I’m sure the freight broker went with the cheapest bid.

He was reportedly onsite and searching for the caboose. This could take weeks before he figures that one out.

But was it properly chained down?

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

That's what I think. I believe those wind towers are minimum 100' long. Definitely too long for the elevation of those tracks with what they were using to carry it on front and rear. I don't know if those have to be a permitted loads or not since it is not over wide but shouldnt have ever tried to cross those tracks at that particular location.

It’s almost like they’ve NEVER transported those things before.

Goes back to my post on freight brokers- it’s a lot like low bid in construction, they want the lowest price and expect the best job
