Wonder how the truck got stuck? Looks like the trailer bottomed out on the tracks. That's what I think. I believe those wind towers are minimum 100' long. Definitely too long for the elevation of those tracks with what they were using to carry it on front and rear. I don't know if those have to be a permitted loads or not since it is not over wide but shouldnt have ever tried to cross those tracks at that particular location. It’s almost like they’ve NEVER transported those things before. The intellagence level of many many truck drivers these days out here in west texas seems to be on the low side when it comes to critical thinking. Probably compounded by english being their second language and a loooong way from their native language. They are no where near the seasoned professional truck drivers we had in years past.

I’ve been told if you need a brain transplant to get it from a truck driver, guaranteed it’s never been used- like new condition.

That does not look like a turbine tower, they do not have all that extra stuff, valves and pipes sticking out from them.
Prayers to families of the RR folks killed.

Prayers to families of the RR folks killed. You are very correct wytex. I live with one of those wind towers about 175 yds from my window and they have nothing except some weld beads around the outside, but appear totally smooth except for the entrance hatch at the bottom. I'm sure glad I don't have to climb that ladder insde to get into the nacelle on top to work on things. The vessel in the wreck was definitely something else - probably oil or gas related. Thanks for catching that.

Watched the video of the impact. WOW! The tractor never moved, the trailer just kinda disappeared.

I wonder if one of these signs was posted at the intersection. Street view from Jul 2022 does not show those signs being there, just the "DO NOT STOP ON TRACKS"

Prayers to the families of those killed. I will wait to lay blame as it seems there are so many failures with this tragedy. Truck should have been on a designated route that they knew he wouldn't get in this position. Pilot car should have stopped him if not safe. I read the semi was stuck for an hour prior to the train coming. Why didn't someone notify the railroad? If someone did notify they why did they not relay this to the train crew?

That's How it is supposed to work when somebody calls the 800 number and give them the info on the sign, but it seems nobody called in time or at all. Prayers for all involved.
