Looking for basic tips. Got an old late 70's early 80's graphite Fenwick rod that I really like that has been out of service for decades. I want to start using this rod again but has a broken guide and a loose guide needing a rewrap. I bought a turning machine and built a wrapping stand, slow cure epoxy, thread and so on. So I'm down to needing any input on turning speed for drying and epoxy re coat times and tips. thanks

I added a cork grip in front of the reel seat on an older G rod. I split the cork grip and glued in place , My problem is a gap running the length of the grip,
about 1/16 of an inch. What would be the best product to fill this gap ? I am thinking it is some that will set up hard and be able to sand down.

I don't care what it looks like , will probably cover the whole mess with grip tape. But I think it will feel funny if it is not filled in.

Thanks folks

I’m excited to announce that I’ve started offering rod repairs and customizations on the side under the name Mesquite Rod Company, located in Canton, Texas! If you have a fishing rod that needs some TLC or if you’re looking for a custom touch, I would love to help.

Feel free to send me a PM if you’re interested. I’m happy to discuss your needs and ensure you’re out on the water with gear that’s as good as new (or even better)!

Merry Christmas, everyone!
