Its hit the fishing forum that I'm banned for life from..... it will go 50 pages and turn into a murder charge soon. Just use a new email address and open a new account…or that’s what I heard from a friend. I can’t imagine anyone doing something so dastardly. Almost as bad as buying a license after weigh in No doubt about that.

Wellllllll…..after further review of the play, there does indeed appear to be a foul.

How hard is it to remember to get your new license every August? Can you imagine trying to keep up with licenses as a professional angler. So you have some states that its based jan-Dec 31st. Then you have some states that its a random day like Texas (Sept 1st- the start of dove season), then you have some states where its good for 365 days from the day you purchased. I imagine some more states have something even goofier that I am missing but I could see how it could get confusing when you literally fish all over the country and moved to a new state just 2 years prior and all these different states you are constantly fishing have different systems.

... How does he generate revenue for the state? Tourism... Out of staters spending money on guide trips, licenses, fishing tackle, hotels, restaurants, gas... Dan So. 90% of what their bringing to Texas are his profits…not the states. The only thing the state gets is a few dozen one day out of state license fees. State taxes don’t go towards TPWD. Then he uses state resources, paid for by citizens, to make his business possible.

He lives here and knows he is going to fish every year. That one should be easy.

I have never ever heard of someone getting arrested for not having a fishing license. Every instance I have seen has been a ticket. Is turning in a Sharelunker considered competing in a tournament?

Dozens of people employed in those businesses

I am sure the dude isn't fishing in all fifty states....don't feel a bit sorry for him or any other pro that can't keep up with paperwork where they are fishing. That comes with the line of business IMO....Maybe he needs to look for another line of work.
