Almost as bad as buying a license after weigh in

No doubt about that.

Wellllllll…..after further review of the play, there does indeed appear to be a foul.

Can you imagine trying to keep up with licenses as a professional angler. So you have some states that its based jan-Dec 31st. Then you have some states that its a random day like Texas (Sept 1st- the start of dove season), then you have some states where its good for 365 days from the day you purchased. I imagine some more states have something even goofier that I am missing but I could see how it could get confusing when you literally fish all over the country and moved to a new state just 2 years prior and all these different states you are constantly fishing have different systems.

So. 90% of what their bringing to Texas are his profits…not the states. The only thing the state gets is a few dozen one day out of state license fees. roflmao
State taxes don’t go towards TPWD. Then he uses state resources, paid for by citizens, to make his business possible.

He lives here and knows he is going to fish every year. That one should be easy.

Do you get lifetime fishing license if you catch a sharelunker? I am not sure, for some reason I thought that

Not that I am aware of and even with a lifetime you still have to get your copy of a new license every year.

Tell that to the businesses that depend on that income... Dan

I have never ever heard of someone getting arrested for not having a fishing license. Every instance I have seen has been a ticket. Is turning in a Sharelunker considered competing in a tournament?

It’s not just him. Dozens of guides busier than they’ve ever been. Lodges booked solid. Restaurants full. Dozens of people employed in those businesses

I am sure the dude isn't fishing in all fifty states....don't feel a bit sorry for him or any other pro that can't keep up with paperwork where they are fishing. That comes with the line of business IMO....Maybe he needs to look for another line of work.
