Why are you still in Killeen in a dumpy apartment? Shouldn’t you be packing your bags? Weren’t you supposed to buy some land in west Texas for pennys on the dollar?

Not trying to be mean or upset you. I honestly want to know why you're in my state?

Fifth gen native Texan asking. If you dream of another place. Why ain't you leaving? I'm curious, that's all.

I have always been of the opinion that you grow where you are planted. If you have family, friends, ties to the community….stay, figure out your purpose and fulfill it. Those places are nice to visit, but they aren’t home.

I can't imagine not living in Texas but Flint Hills of Kansas and Tennessee would be at the top of my list.

I tried North Carolina. I lasted six months on the day. Living there was like living in old school Texas. The way I grew up.

But in North Carolina they like to shoot each other too much. There's some incredibly nasty folks living there that'll kill you dead over principle alone.

Got the hell out of there quick and came back home. Bell County.

Stay here in Huntsville, AL. Low cost of living, excellent healthcare. Tennessee River is 20 miles away. I no longer hunt, but if I did there is a 65,000 acre WMA one hour east of me.

I've never experienced those types of public land. Texas gave all theirs to the railroad. Everything has always been private property. You had to careful walking around in someone else's field unless you knew them.

I've hunted a 10k acre ranch. San Saba area. God's country. Absolutely amazing. The real beauty of Texas.

Left Texas 36 year ago and don't see us moving back. Every time we go back it has changed and not for the better.
Can't take the heat now and our cold grows on you, lol.
Family is still down there and we visit every year but won't be moving back if we can help it.
We love this smaller town and the mountains nearby. Folks are friendly and crime is not bad.
Hunting almost anything we want within an hour on public lands. No need for a lease but we do have private access as well, for free.
Love to go back and visit Texas now but looking forward to getting home every time.

Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

rhetorical questions get rhetorical answers.

Just want to make folks smile, and spit coffee on their keyboard.

If you put beans in your chili, you don't know beans about chili.

God doesn't create temporary people, you will spend eternity somewhere. Choose wisely.
