I love mountains, but not cold. I'm pretty satisfied out here in western Val Verde County.

NW Arkansas but probably South Carolina. Our son lives in the Travelers Rest area.

South Carolina would be at the top of the list. The Greenville and Charleston area is awesome. Love it there. Like a lot of people on here, including yourself, I’ve been to a lot of places. Charleston and the Lowcountry are the ONLY places I’ve been where I came back to Dallas and looked at real estate prices thinking I could live there. It’s the best of the South.

Keep seeing Northwestern Ark. Any specific area? Rogers would be good. Love beaver lake. Eureka Springs is pretty zesty....

Washington state. Had I ventured to the Pacific NW as a young man, I'd probably not be in Tx now.

Wife has family in Iowa, and we really like the summers there,so we are looking for a summer place in northern Iowa or southern Minn.also I like Alabama and N.Carolina and Kentucky as places I’ve been and liked but really not close to anybody I know. Main requirement for me would be plenty of golf courses and not to many people like dfw is now.

Someone mentioned Charleston. My sub was homeported in Charleston. It was a pretty nice area. One year we had 8 inches of snow. Everything came to a standstill for 3 days until it melted. Daughter #4 had a doctor there when I was at her place a couple of years ago. The whole area is huge now and overrun with people. But, I was there 30 plus years ago.
