There's not many Lakes that can claim the amount of "Eater Size" Channels and Blues as does Richland Chambers Reservoir! The underfished 45,000-acre lake that serves Tarrant County with about 70% of the water used by Ft. Worth & Arlington seems to get better every year. We're on the Lake most days in the Fall and on some Weekdays never see another boat. Seems that after Labor Day, the boat traffic slows to a halt for the late Fall thru Winter timeframe and we have the Big Ol' Lake all to ourselves. I've often wondered why very few folks fish RC and guess it may be due to the size of the Lake and that it can get rough with a bit of wind. RC is about the same distance from DFW as many of the other North Texas lakes are, but the boat traffic is 90% less than a Cedar Creek, Tawakoni, or Whitney. We've been fishing RC since 1994, and the traffic is less today than when it was when the Lake was brand new. This past week was GREAT as the weather and fishing were both good and we fished Monday thru Saturday. We conducted VETERANS TRIPS on Monday & Tuesday and then had a combo of New Customers and Regulars the remainder of the week. Mr. Whiskers Cheese Punch Bait on a #4 Treble Hook fished in 15' FOW in Timber on the Richland Creek Arm was the key to success.
