Looking at a champion boat that's a great price. the listing shows...

Mercury 200 did a compression test cylinders 1-4 are 120 psi cylinders 5&6 are at 112 psi

Is this a concern? I think i've heard that if the cyliders are within 10% then it's not an issue. But i'm not sure.

They probably didn’t even do the compression test properly to begin with. How much are they asking and what model?

Those numbers wouldn't worry me at all. Run a can of power tune through it then do it again and I bet they get even closer.

unless you have a "known proven" gauge its best to use more than one ta compare readings..........

not enough difference to be to concerned...

Yeah you want them all about the same. Compression test will show terminal cancer if you have 5 at 120 and one at 90 that’s a soon to be dead motor. But it won’t reveal a tired motor. That takes a leak down test. Which is hard to do standing on the driveway of the seller.
