Better check the O-ring around the propshaft while you're at it. Water intrusion will cost you a LOT more than $200 down the road
Yep, I know this pain. Dead blow hammer to straighten a bent prop shaft?, thought they had to put it in a machining tool to stretch it back square. My two cents anything beyond about a .030 bend I'd probably just have them replace it.

I’ll use my dial on it this evening. I don’t think it’s bent. I was told to put a ball point pen in the dimple in the center of the shaft and spin the prop. The pen in the dimple will highly accentuate any out of alignment when you hold the pen in with one finger by the other end.

I would expect to see some better pricing on boats when the price of crude oil starts dropping. At close to $70 a barrel boat prices will not fall. At $40/barrel I would expect to see some deals in the form of rebates or package specials. With Trump "Drill Baby Drill" coming into office this will likely happen. Many of the resins and gel coat materials are hydrocarbon-based as is Kevlar.
I think it will take a year maybe two before we actually start seeing boat prices fall.

8 don't think I've ever seen new boat prices "fall". If anything they stay at a price for a while without increasing but I've never seen prices go down unless it was a previous year model that did not sell etc.

You may see stripped down bare bones models come out, makes the illusion of a cheaper boat.

I've talked to a couple of dealers about 2024 leftovers... They're not offering discounts, they're just willing to take off high priced add-ons to get it in you're price range... They need them gone, they're paying in the 9% monthly floorplan range on each boat... Had 2 tell me that once they do sell them they won't be ordering replacements, they'll order what the customer wants when they come in looking... Interest rates are rates are killing them... Dan

Dan Dang they are paying 500 a month to sit on a boat- I assume they get 6 months before that kicks in?

Yep...I back my 20yr old Ford Ranger down the ramp unload my lil bass buster, and just sit there by the ramp and make fun of all the high dollar rigs that come that day. I look forward to it every week. Really makes me feel good about myself.
Sometimes I get my Wendy’s to go and sit outside the local steakhouse and laugh at those idiots. It makes me feel better about myself. Weird flex? I was thinking the same thing For a bunch of guys that preach about freedoms and liberties to live the way you want - there are some of the most judgemental folks when it comes to stuff like this. I guarantee NONE...ZERO...of those guys out there launching their boats are worried about some random dude's opinion of their life without knowing a thing about it. If anything - you look like a loser staring people down that are minding their own business. And you clearly haven't been in a situation where someone has called you out or approached you about that kind of behavior in your life - but something tells me the keyboard Cowboy personality would be nowhere to be found, yeah? My brief personal story is - my parents raised me to make a better life for myself than they had, which I've done. Who doesn't want that for their kids right? I don't make a killing, but I'm comfortable and one of my dreams was to have a boat one day I was proud of. I think it's an "above average" rig - but that doesn't really matter either way....the point is - I worked hard for it and accomplished a goal I set out for myself a long time ago. Some people just can't...possibly...fathom...that some guys are actually able to afford things they can't. So if that's how you're spending your time out on the water - there is no other explanation other than jealousy being at the root of the issue. But whatever makes you feel better podna!

It’s straight as it ever was. I ran my pencil test….couldn’t feel anything. I put my dial indicator on it and turned it….. .00075” runout. Almost dead on perfect. Well within spec. The prop isn’t that bad. But it does have to get repaired. You will get a shimmy or shake real quick the first time you run it down the lake if its not "right"

I hammered it down the lake 30’seconds after I wacked it. Haha. It had slight vibration. Also slipping enough to pound the rev limiter SEND IT!
