I know a recently retired landman.

He’s reminds of Tim Waltz.

Very feminine guy.

Having said that.

That tender little pooch made an azz load of money.

He would get ten of thousands of dollars in bonus pay.

The landmen I’ve dealt with were mostly shysters that tried to lease my minerals on speculation for cheap and resale them to bigger companies. They want to do a three year lease and never actually release the place tying it up for 3 years. Everytime there is a new area opened up around here they come out of the woodwork trying to tie up the surrounding land.

They were one of the reason I decided to start my own production company.

Retirement best job ever.

Only Hollywood could make a violent, blockbuster, suspenseful series about, what in reality, is a boring and tedious profession. What’s next? CPAs…maybe.

Wait…..I thought all landmen had fireman gear in their truck and did surface use and damage agreements in front of murdering drug runners.

I have yet to see any depiction of the oil and gas industry in a TV show or movie that had even the slightest bit of realism portrayed. Big fan of Sheridan, but I have held off on this show because I have a feeling it would just frustrate me.

There Will Be Blood is one of my favorite movies about the industry and I guess could be kind of what it was like in the early days of Oil production.

Good call. I stand corrected, that makes exactly ONE movie that shows drilling with any degree of accuracy.

Yes, great movie.
