Then….why does 56 feel like 70? meh. You still work hard and accomplish stuff and then fish 4-5 days a week.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

You're farther down hill than you realize. You'll wake up to it one day, it'll hit you hard.
Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

I'm 54 but feel better than I did at 40. I feel healthier and truly do not feel 54. I rarely have the normal 50 year old ailments for which I'm incredibly grateful. I try not take it for granted. I take zero medications besides a thyroid medication and all my labs are great and per my annual physical fitness test which includes a VO2 reading I'm in tbe top 12% for my age group in the country.
I fully understand that it can all go south in an instant though.and I try to do my part. I workout consistently and run quite a bit. Gonna attempt the half marathon for the Cowtown Marathon in late February.

A few years ago I was at my worst physically. My weight had ballooned and everything hurts I think I was even worn down mentally. I got to a place where I said enough is enough. I just started slowly getting my [censored] together in regards to my health and control the things I can control. My little sister was healthy as can be and got diagnosed with cancer when she was 37 and we lost her before she turned 40. I had a cousin that was in excellent health. He had a massive heart attack and died at 50. Hell back this summer was told I had a tumor in my lung when doing my yearly physical. Talk about a rough few days until further testing showed it was just a shadow. I see healthy people de regularly with my job. It sucks to see and that's why I know I'm extremely lucky. One day my luck is gonna run out. I am blessed more than I deserve.

Two old ladies have played bridge together for years. Naturally they had gotten to know each other very well. One day during a game one lady suddenly looks up at the other and says, "Now dear, I know that we've known each other for many years, so please don't be angry or upset by this. But could you please tell me your name? I'm trying to remember, but I just can't bring it to mind."
The other lady glares at her for a full three minutes and replies, "How soon do you need to know?"
Happy Birthday. 66 here. I'm doing better now than I was at 60.
