Does elk camp count? Every year for at least 7 days in a wall tent. We also have a 1 acre lot up in the mountains we go put up the tent and stay on weekends.

I want to get into canoe camping and figured I could find some info or discussions on the TFF but it doesn't like it. You ever camped out of a canoe? I've done the stretch at a put in about five miles from the Rayburn Dam (911 stuff, so they weren't letting people close to the dam) on the Angelina and then on the Neches to Dam B. There's a cutoff slough off the Neches that will take you to Martin Dies for a take out there. It was marked by a leaning tree with paint on it years ago. Watch for alligators. There's some big ones there. There's also some primitive Corp of Engineer campsites along the way. https://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/townbluff/Recreation/Camping
