Agreed. I think I still shoot a bit slower with the red dot but I don’t miss as much. Dry fire training with Mantis has made the transition much quicker.
Do this to learn speed. Always keep both eyes open. Cover the front of your red dot with masking tape and present. Then do it on the range. It becomes second nature and you will actually be quicker then irons. You will be surprised at how clear the sight picture still is and how fast you adjust. Then with tape off your damn Josef Wales.

I love red dots on my pistols. I won’t go back to irons now.

You just answered another question I had. It looks like they’ll clear a suppressor? I plan on getting a staccato C2 with a suppressor next

So far I have had good luck with the Holosuns. The one thing I would recommend though is find the one that’s a direct mount for your gun or have a slide cut specific to your model. We have had some adapter plates fail during training. [Linked Image]

I've had my eye on a Night Hawk Counselor for a while... Can't quite bring myself to do it yet.

Yes they do and you’ll want to get taller iron sights as a back up.

Cool. Do you recommend tritium irons with your optic or would that hamper your sight picture somehow?

What rear is on your Glock? Dawson? My plate takes a Glock dovetail and I’m going to need a .355” with a Novak .250” front

No offense meant, but why, oh why, would you limit yourself to 8 rounds? No real reason for it. They can be found in various configurations. I believe, but won't swear to it, that Remington now makes the Para Ordanance pistols. They are out there. Even in the Commander configuration.

PS, I might also have a G-48, single stack with me on occasion. So, I'm not totally anti 9mm.

I only run tritium. It does go dim over time, so you will have to replace them, but the half life on tritium is super long.

No idea on the size of the dove tail

Trijicon RMR and Aimpoint Acro are the two rolls royces of the pistol red dot world. That’s all I use pretty much.

I have a SIG P229 M11-A1. 15+1. I wouldn’t go less than 10

Sig P320 AXG Legion. Holds 21+1 and my wife can empty the mags faster than I can reload them.

Just a huge 1911 fan and enjoy quality over quantity in my hobbies. I use high end JDM fishing gear instead of Kast Kings and I enjoy top tier firearms over stuff like Taurus & Para. To me, it’s just something you can feel when it’s in your hand. I wouldn’t pay $299 for the pistol in that link muchless $899

I’ve never needed 1 round muchless 8 and I’m perfectly ok with my odds. There’s something for everyone
