McCarthy is trying to keep his team from being injured badly

I don't think what he said was bad, the guys he was talking about have spent their entire careers as Cowboys, they have worked their tails off for 10 years, McCarthy has been here 5 years, plus he can still go coach somewhere else, these guys are pretty much done with playing, I would rather have someone speak their mind , especially if what is said is the truth. jmo

Jerry is the one who hired him and provided him with the players on this team, if he fires him now he is just going to make himself look even dumber, besides that what good would it do, his replacement is most likely still coaching ( highly unlikely that the next coach is with the Cowboys right now ) , he will not be able to talk with any coaches during the regular season.

Jerry won't fire him mid season. He's come out and said the one and only time he did it (Wade) was a mistake and he regrets it.

MM won't be renewed though. I imagine conversations with Belicek have already started.

Yep. I hope they avoid the retreat HC candidates if they get rid of MM.

It won’t matter who coaches them as long as Skeletor owns the team.

However, I heard Jerry himself say that if RJ were to get an apology, he would sell the team.

At this point in the season what good does firing him do. You have no quarterback, no defense, you aren't gonna make a run. It's a done deal.

What does keeping him.around do? If the players are not responding to him then what's the point? If you know you are not gonna extend him a new contract then why keep him? Tab one of the assistant coaches like Al Harris or Fassel as interim and see if the team responds even a little.
It also can help see how the middle to lower tier players that are needed to fill a roster play for someone else. It will help identify some that you keep and some that you can let walk.
