Because NATO had been saber rattling (for almost 15 years) in regards to inviting Ukraine into NATO. Something of which Putin stated was a red line for Russia. (you can research his reasoning quite easily, as well as the Warhawks reasoning) Look, I'm NO fan of Putin, but, neglect to take him at his word at your own risk.... Right. I mean if Russia was like, "Hey buds, we are going to put some weapons in Mexico, right near that wall and ask them to join or club that promises to fight with each other no matter what..." You think America would be like "Oh that is cool". Or would we say F that, I dont like that. And if to stop that we have to take over Mexico, maybe we will do just that. And then folks would be like, "Well Mexico and US have a long and often shared history. They have similarities in culture, a lot of Americans are Mexican a lot of Americans speak Spanish and Mexicans speak English etc..." That is Russia and the Ukraine dig? All that talk about offering to bring Ukraine into NATO was not a good idea.... Putin was not playing and he will NOT lose this war. If that means nukes then he will do that... We need to get to the table and end this right away. Waste of human lives, waste of money, and very risky game that only benefits the rich. Remember what Ike told us 65 years ago or so..."In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist." Right now they are making bombs and the intent is to drop them all...

I shudder to think where we'd be minus JFK's backbone and Khrushchev's sanity... Diplomacy is the only answer to this war... and it won't be reached via globalist toadies....

Putin didn't invade Ukraine because of NATO. Virtually all the previous invasions from the west have been launched through the Baltic states or Poland which are already part of NATO.
Russia is vast, but only 7% of it is arable land fit for growing crops. 60% of Ukraine is arable. Plus, the strategic significance of Crimea and it's black seaports.
Putin invaded Ukraine because he saw weakness in the white house and thought he could waltz in and take it just like he took Crimea under Obamas watch. It's an attractive target with all the arable land, minerals, and strategically significant geography. His generals told him it would be easy. He's since sacrificed 700,000 men trying to save face.
Ukraine is a sovereign country. They have every right to defend themselves in any way shape or form they please. I don't blame them for begging for help and blasting the snot out of Moscow whenever they can.
We've honestly played the whole thing pretty well up to this point. We've accomplished our goal. We've destroyed Russia ability to conduct another ground war with minimal expense and no American lives. We've exposed Putin's military for what it is. Putin is no longer living under any illusions of what is military is. Mission accomplished. Time to get out and cheer for Ukraine from afar.

Think how fast this economy is gonna collapse when Trump closes the checkbook to little yoga pants. Sleepy was robbing Peter to pay paul, propping this fraudulent economy up on crutches. The problem is not all of the $$ was coming back to this country and libtards wouldn’t allow an audit.

the west keeps breaking agreements and prodding Putin . When Gorbachev was president --- he agreed to move 400K troops away from that border as long as the West agreed to not adding any other country to Nato and to not move 1inch closer to Moscow . He knew this Russians would hate him for this agreement and ultimately would bring in a new Russian regime --- which was Putin. We are now 1200 miles closer to Moscow . We have essentially broken Minsk1 and Minsk2 agreements . Add to that the bombing of Russian speaking Ukrainians in the Dombas region by Ukraine itself . We keep kicking a dog that isn't going to back down . Putin see's Biden as weak and feeble ---- he would have seen Harris exactly the same . He see's Trump completely different and most likely an agreement will be made and I believe Ukraine see the writing on the wall .

Putin is no longer living under any illusions of what is military is. Mission accomplished. Time to get out and cheer for Ukraine from afar. I actually agree with a lot of what you state....particularly the "weak leadership"..... BUT, don't think for a nanosecond that western NATO expansion (against previous promises NOT to do so) wasn't the straw that broke the camels back. The warhawks (really chicken lils) have been itching to stick the knife in the heart of what is left of the old Soviet Union, perhaps as badly as Putin wanted Crimea/Donbas/Ukraine. Just like Putin, "they" also wouldn't mind getting their hands on Ukranian natural resources.... Also, be careful about underestimating Russia's military capabilites.... and, before you ask, yes, I get their population limitations, etc etc etc. One other thing, IMOP, these idiots are going to end up getting us in a world war if they're not careful (which won't END well for any of us). They've already forced an alignment of China/N Korea and Russia... who formally didn't care much for each other.... "the enemy of my enemy" etc.

You don't think Putin is a dictator? He's been in power for 20 plus years and any on his political rivals mysteriously fall out of windows or are poisoned. Literally one of the most evil leaders of any country. well other than 20 years and the name putin, put clinton in there and what's the difference? lots of people sucided under clinton rule. I wonder what the real story is about JFK totally agree --- Russia has a dictator that the Russian people love and Americans have " system " that is so broken that people can't see how insanely corrupt both parties have been . Democrats and Republicans have been playing political tribalism for decades with the sole goal being conquer and divide ---- not unity . Trump has the opportunity to unite both sides and get real chit done . Look at RFK , Gabbard , Musk , Shanahan --- hard line DEM's coming over to work on solving the top problems this country has and all of those problems have ben created by Government itself

Bureaucrats will rarely "solve" much of anything over the long haul... If they did they'd solve themselves right out of a job....
