Our annual tuna trip to Port A! Wish we could do this more often but look forward to the trip every year. Weather looked iffy, but turned out great! Originally the plan was to sail 290 miles from port but we couldn't make up enough ground to do that in 56 hours, so we stuck close, and it turned out to be great! Boat limit of yellowfins and 4 wahoo caught trolling. I caught all my tuna but one on a Halco 130 in silver and pink with black stripes and my last one was on a pink frenzy flyer. One of the coolest thing's in the world is watching a big tuna crush a topwater bait! Can't wait till next year!!

What species on Dolphin dock? That’s some serious fish cleaning

I was hoping we could try for some grouper or tilefish but it was too rough.



I try to catch big crappie!! Not little ones! They put up a heck of a fight!



The big fish are all yellowfin tuna. There’s a couple wahoo hanging on the rack and a few blackfin tuna and somebody kept 2 barracuda’s! All we kept was yellowfin. The 3 of us had about 600 pounds of fish and we all ended up with a little over 100 pounds of meat. I’ll eat it raw for about 10 days then vacuum seal the rest. I’ve been with this group for 3 years now and will keep going God willing!! It’s a blast!

How many folks on that trip ? What are the accommodations like ? Food situation ?

15 of us and 5 crew members. Accommodations are metal bunks in the middle of the boat with a thin vinyl coated pad. Meals are whatever you bring to eat. There's a microwave and a hot dog roller on the boat! They do have a Keureg now so I feel like we're in high cotton!!
