Fished from 230am until way too late. Green fish bite is pretty good at night, and up until about 10:00. A.m.. after that it was casting practice. A friend was out on the lake and I was trying to find some sandbass for him, but I looked all over, and i did not find any fish that were cooperating. With the cooler water there's tons of bait up in the coves, so maybe they are going up into the creeks chasing bait. I hit all the good humps and I didn't find anything. Back in 2021 I was fishing on the upper end of the lake, and I saw canoe on the mega 360. I salvaged the canoe but after 3 years I still haven't found the owner. Today when I was coming off the lake I saw a family on the dock fishing where I had launched. I asked him if they had a boat and they said no, so I asked the son if he had good grades and he said yes. I told him I'd give him a canoe as long as he kept his grades up, and Mom Said that it was okay. So I'm gifting the canoe to them with some gear and life jackets and paddles. So this little story has come to an end and a very favorable outcome. Wish I could tell you something positive on the sandbass but it was brutal today. I've added a little clip of when I found the canoe.

I remember you finding a canoe but guess I did not note at the time that you actually snagged it off the bottom. That is pretty impressive!

Sounds like you put it to great use. Kid will get a kick out of that canoe I am sure. Makes you wonder what else might be down there...

6lb 11oz in about 18ft with the rattiest looking 6xd i own.

Dan90210, i have about 7 sunken boats watpointed from a very large sailboat near grapevine point, to a small aluminum skiff. When they get silted in, they are just too heavy to lift. I have three surfboards, 68 bumpers for boats, 14 anchors, i stopped bringing home life vests (i just leave them at the ramp), and a 5 gallon bucket half full of baits that need to be cleaned and re-hooked. Im down to 6 kayaks as I found the owner of one this summer. You are right about lots of stuff on the lake. I pick up trash, and find allot of stuff with that task. Yesterday i saw something on the livescope that looked like an anchor rope floating off the bottom. I snagged it and it was that yellow plastic rope the marina uses with a come-along attached to the end. That's a first, but will pass it to the builders mocking up the two new marina docks in Scott's. Take care all, if i go out it will prob be at night for the green fish.

I don't know which is more of a spectacle, the bass or the rattiest looking fishing rod that Brent owns

You made me bust out laughing.. good thing i didn't have a mouthful of "Kol Beer".

Fished from 130am until noon. Bass bite at night was pretty good, when the sun came up it got tough. Bass were 2-5ft at night, and 18-20 during the day for me. I fished mid lake and down in the creeks, looked out on main lake for sandbass and nada on the lower end for me. I did find a V-bottom aluminum boat off of sandbass point in about 27ft of water, I was able to lift it off the bottom some. I moved it towards the parking lot, and it currently sits in about 12ft of water. Grappling hook broke, so i will get it up on the bank next week. just side scan the point kinda favoring main lake and you should see it. Water is 66-67 and the bait is thick in all the creek channels. Done for the week, take care all. Caught decent fish, and lost a "biggun", it just wasn't her day for a picture.

I fished today - I caught a total of 2 sand bass. They were northeast of the island on the humps. I checked a couple of coves, tried to go up a creek which ended up being too shallow, I checked the humps by the crusher, nothing. I switched to crappie and caught a bunch. I tried to buy minnows this morning but the store was out of them so I just used jigs. There were fish on all the brush piles I checked and the first few brush piles I was able to pick off one or two. Finally found one that was loaded and stayed there for a while. Went to several near by brush piles and they were loaded as well. Definitely a different day than last week - maybe the weather that came through yesterday.

I put in at Meadowmere and the boathouse basically across from the ramp had flipped over. It must have happened within the last week. I feel bad for the owner.

Wow glad you shared that pic. Did you scan it to see if it was holding fish? 😎

But yea seriously that sucks definitely feel for em. Hopefully folks are careful around it and don't cause more problems.

Good to hear on crappie bite and I see my messages flashing
