So this year my two scripts are free and my monthly premium is 50 cents. In 2025 my two scripts will still be free and the monthly premium goes to zero. The deductable looks about the same as other plans. I know business and finance but I can't get my head around this business model. Are they counting on complacency and plan to jack up premiums in future years?

I have appointment with my insurance guy later this month on this subject. I also have WellCare I will let you know how mine turns out.

I have well care for rx for 10 years. Last year they got so high I called and threatened to cancel. This year they have been the cheapest I've had.

I have Wellcare this year yeah very cheap premiums but not so cheap deductible and they price my meds so high I can fill them cheaper at CVS thru Good RX. I will probably go BCBS this next year from overall prices I am seeing. Wellcare is great if you don’t have either any meds or specialty meds.

Same for us. Our premiums for the Part D (Wellcare Rx) used to be 11.00 or so a month, then it dropped to $0.50 a month. Waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Been with Wellcare for five years. No problems getting expensive drugs approved.

I have the same plan and mine is also dropping to $0. Must be getting some Gov subsidies

I had a meeting with my Medicare agent last week. I have WellCare and nothing cheaper this year. They cut the agents out. I`ll bet they wish they hadn`t sold their plan D to customers in the past.

My cost was .50 a month last year and 0.00 this year. Looks like my total cost next year for my drugs will be about 130 bucks.

The Wellcare deductible for 2024 is the max at $545 how are you guys getting around that? Yeah the premiums are nothing but the deductible and some drug prices are very expensive.

Sounds like the best choice is very drug-specific. The Medicare website is very useful here because you can list your drug and dosages and it will calculate your all-in cost for each plan.

Exactly…the zero premiums are only one part of the equation. IMO very smart marketing by Wellcare but if you don’t look at full annual cost it may not be nearly as cheap as you think.

You need to put your drugs in on the Medicare website to find out.
I have a lot of prescriptions, five being name brand, and Wellcare is still much less for the year.

I recommend everyone do this go to medicare.gov , click on find health and drug plans. Easy

This is true, good advice. One size doesn't fit all. Luckily, We don't have any real expensive prescriptions. If you use Walmart to fill them, they will use a GoodRx coupon too. One cholesterol med for me was $158 for 3 months. The pharmacist tech had a coupon code from GoodRx, it was $34. 158 to 34.
