Our annual tuna trip to Port A! Wish we could do this more often but look forward to the trip every year. Weather looked iffy, but turned out great! Originally the plan was to sail 290 miles from port but we couldn't make up enough ground to do that in 56 hours, so we stuck close, and it turned out to be great! Boat limit of yellowfins and 4 wahoo caught trolling. I caught all my tuna but one on a Halco 130 in silver and pink with black stripes and my last one was on a pink frenzy flyer. One of the coolest thing's in the world is watching a big tuna crush a topwater bait! Can't wait till next year!! Slew

I bet those fight a little harder than those little crappie!
Trust your own instinct. Your mistakes might as well be your own, instead of someone elses.

I knida like doing that stuff myself. Thanks for sharing with us...Finally bite the bullet and getting set up for some deep dropping. I was hoping we could try for some grouper or tilefish but it was too rough. I bet those fight a little harder than those little crappie! I try to catch big crappie!! Not little ones! They put up a heck of a fight! What species on Dolphin dock? That’s some serious fish cleaning The big fish are all yellowfin tuna. There’s a couple wahoo hanging on the rack and a few blackfin tuna and somebody kept 2 barracuda’s! All we kept was yellowfin. The 3 of us had about 600 pounds of fish and we all ended up with a little over 100 pounds of meat. I’ll eat it raw for about 10 days then vacuum seal the rest. I’ve been with this group for 3 years now and will keep going God willing!! It’s a blast! Slew

MO 15 of us and 5 crew members. Accommodations are metal bunks in the middle of the boat with a thin vinyl coated pad. Meals are whatever you bring to eat. There's a microwave and a hot dog roller on the boat! They do have a Keureg now so I feel like we're in high cotton!!

Watched a youtube video the first trip 3 years ago and cleaned 3 that year and have been doing our own ever since. It took 2 of us probably 3 hours to get those 12 filleted and bagged. Paying $.60 a pound for something I can do myself seems silly. It is messy though! My buddy drives and we clean fish! That's been our arrangement for the last 3 years. Works for us!

“And somebody kept two Barracudas!”. . . Oh My Gosh! ! ! Barracuda is one of my favorite fishes to eat. And I’ve heard nothing but trash talk about them.
Took a trip to Barbados. Went out on a fishin’ boat, unfortunately it was in the off season. Ugh! ! ! But we did catch one good sized Barracuda. Had the guys clean it. Took it back to the villa, seasoned it and threw it on the grill. Wowwwww! ! ! Best texture. It was like a NY Strip. Anyway, I love me some Barracuda.
That trip looked Awesome. Except, I ain’t got 15 friends😩😩😩 to go with me.

It's white meat but if I want white meat fish I'll eat crappie! My buddy is from Florida and they don't eat them there because they eat all the coral reef fish and are full of toxins. These came from 6k feet of water so they're for sure not feeding on coral reef fish!

The way I understand it , the toxin builds up over time. Any large ( old ) reef fish can be toxic. If you are going to eat barracuda, eat the small ones. While on a trip to Belize , many years ago , We stopped at a small island with a lighthouse , about 30 miles off shore. There was an old man (lighthouse keeper) who would build a fire with coconut husks and drift wood every day about lunch time. fishing boats and dive boats that were in the area would stop , give him a few beers and cook lunch on the fire, The Captain and mate had saved some small barracuda , they wrapped them in foil with some seasoned salt. I ate some and it was delicious . Beat the hell out of the ham sandwich our hotel had sent with us for the trip. These barracuda came from open , deep water as well. The captain assured us it was safe.
your mileage may vary
