They have a fish cleaner at the dock but we do our own! Watched a youtube video the first trip 3 years ago and cleaned 3 that year and have been doing our own ever since. It took 2 of us probably 3 hours to get those 12 filleted and bagged. Paying $.60 a pound for something I can do myself seems silly. It is messy though! My buddy drives and we clean fish! That's been our arrangement for the last 3 years. Works for us! cheers

“And somebody kept two Barracudas!”. . . Oh My Gosh! ! ! Barracuda is one of my favorite fishes to eat. And I’ve heard nothing but trash talk about them.

Took a trip to Barbados. Went out on a fishin’ boat, unfortunately it was in the off season. Ugh! ! ! But we did catch one good sized Barracuda. Had the guys clean it. Took it back to the villa, seasoned it and threw it on the grill. Wowwwww! ! ! Best texture. It was like a NY Strip. Anyway, I love me some Barracuda.

That trip looked Awesome. Except, I ain’t got 15 friends😩😩😩 to go with me.

The first year we loaded the boat with them! Several folks said they were good! It's white meat but if I want white meat fish I'll eat crappie! My buddy is from Florida and they don't eat them there because they eat all the coral reef fish and are full of toxins. These came from 6k feet of water so they're for sure not feeding on coral reef fish!

The way I understand it , the toxin builds up over time. Any large ( old ) reef fish can be toxic. If you are going to eat barracuda,
eat the small ones. While on a trip to Belize , many years ago , We stopped at a small island with a lighthouse , about 30 miles off shore.
There was an old man (lighthouse keeper) who would build a fire with coconut husks and drift wood every day about lunch time.
fishing boats and dive boats that were in the area would stop , give him a few beers and cook lunch on the fire,
The Captain and mate had saved some small barracuda , they wrapped them in foil with some seasoned salt.
I ate some and it was delicious . Beat the hell out of the ham sandwich our hotel had sent with us for the trip.
These barracuda came from open , deep water as well. The captain assured us it was safe.

your mileage may vary
