Yea this is now the 3rd try in idk the past 6-7 years that didnt work. I think a lot of people can afford it but I think those same people are the folks that cant justify being away from work that long in order to do it right. I think many people know that that much time away from work means they would have to win one to not lose.

I think that alot of guys just want to fish something every weekend. They pay less and don't make enough to cover expenses unless they win the thing. This deal was pretty much east Texas and most dfw guys aren't going down to rayledo. I thought it was a good deal and would have fished them if they were more central located. I think fishing less tournaments and trying to prep more for ones that actually pay is a good idea. If you aren't gonna do it that way then about the only way to make any money is stay close to the house.

Real bummer when I saw that post last night. We jumped in it last year and thought it was well run throughout the season. Being from DFW, it was nice to see some different bodies of water and make a little money along the way. Was really looking forward to next year. All the folks that ran the tournaments were super nice.

They need a new batch of swamp lily's at the Stump to draw in the tourists. The usual 10 of 12 have aged out.

One of the last times in the Stump I witnessed a proposal. Then some drunk ol' broad was doing some heckling about it and I think she got walked out if I remember correctly. Never know what you might see in there. I enjoy the lakeside bar and grill very much.

You have to check your truck really good when leaving, they will try and get ride out of town with you.

Tough to start a new business when the economy is bad. Why bass champs went from 16 down to 5 tournaments.

Really bummed about the BB announcement. They ran a super cool event. Was looking forward to a full season this year after a fun Conroe event this year. Hope they give it another shot in hopefully a better economy.

Didn’t help that some of their lakes are very low.

Yep. There's a small group of fisherman that have a loud voice that keep pushing this model. At this point the high entry fee higher payout model has a pretty solid track record of failure. The reality is that the bulk of local/regional tournament fishermen still tournament fish as a hobby. We have busy families and are lucky to get to fish the Saturday before a tournament to prepare for it. Paying big money to compete in a high entry fee tournament that you have very little prep time for just doesn't make sense. On the other hand, kicking in $150 bucks for a tournament and getting to spend a day fishing with your buddy isn't that big of a deal. You put in the prep time that you are able to and hope for the best. If you don't cut a check it isn't the end of the world. You would have probably spent a few hundred bucks on something else if you weren't fishing anyway. On the other hand sinking $800 bucks to fish a tournament hits a little different especially when you multiply it by 4. There's no telling how much money Brandon lost on this venture.
