Is that something you have to disclose when you sell a car? Cause if there was small print on an add saying "Previous owner blew his head off with a stick of dynamite in the back seat," then I may pass on that car.

After we got everything fixed and it was detailed 3 times you could not tell anything ever happened in the car.

Man, that’s crazy! If I was going to off myself I’d probably do it by catching the ultimate buzz, choke on my

vomit…etc., something way more hip and/or normal than that guy.

Autoerotic asphyxiation?

I’ll try anything once.

A customer brings me this……

Wants me to fix it.

Here’s a good start….

The “custom”‘dash was held in with plumbers strap.
The only thing that’s getting reused is the radio. (Maybe).

I’ll add Autometer VisionX dash panel, the radio, and an iPad. New A/C controls, billet controls and push button start.

The motor is being built. It’s an LS3 with an 8-speed automatic.

Custom Car owners are a different breed from the ones that buy new cars. I could probably get away with charging this guy $2500 for window tint.

After what I quote for the dash rebuild, I should throw in the $2500 tint for free. banana

Ever notice one of the brand new trucks with a lift kit and grill guard? The dealer sent it out for the conversion. Has a warranty.

$7000 over sticker and that number doesn't move.

And yet, no one asks where's the factory rims and tires. Shocks, factory bumper, a-arms. It's still on and in the window sticker and you're still paying for it. So where do those parts end up? Thousands in dollar of brand new factory parts...

You got me, I just work there.

Those wheels went to a base model truck to help it sell over sticker price….and faster.

Those door jams, damn. It's crazy to me that people that spend that kind of money on a car that's not nice to start with.

What is "that?"

It was someone’s attempt at a custom dash. I kid you not!!! It was bent and folded cardboard boxes soaked in fiberglass resin, then covered in 1/2 thick landau foam. The other parts were 3/4” particle board. It has a headlight switch out of a 2007 Silverado, A/C vents from a 2015 Camaro, some cheap gauges from Amazon (china), a regular old push button to start…so no key required all. The A/C controls were original, as were the wiper switch. The dash weighed about 200 pounds. Haha. Oh….and it had red lights inside the air vents. The air ducting looked like some 2-1/2” swimming pool cleaning vacuum pipe and it even had several 45 and 90 degree pvc couplings to get to the vents. And LOTS of duct tape.

This is why I hate car dealerships- you could turn a half Saturday of pure hell into a literal 10 minute transaction like buying a Tesla or the new scout trucks but dealers want to maintain their grip on the un needed process. They bring zero value to the table.

I got one for you Spags. My father in law was a private detective and had a security company later in life after being a detective, bounty hunter and undercover detective with various law enforcement agencies. My wife and I would drive in to TN from Georgia and I would go to work with him some nights since I worked nights anyway. Kinda , father in law and son in law bonding time. He had security for some car lots in town.
One night , we were sitting there and this dude was breaking into cars. My father in law snuck up behind him and whacked him in the collar bone with his .38. This got his attention. He handcuffed him and bent him over the hood of his car and I was in the passenger seat looking right at this dude. All of a sudden, He grabs this dude by the hair on the back of his head and started smashing his head into the hood of his car over and over , He would tell him that he is not a cop and this was not police brutality. Well, the police were pulling in with the lights on and stuff and he takes his handcuffs off the guy and kicks him off his hood. Dude is unconscious laying next to a 12 foot fence where the body shop was. Police pull up and look at he dude and say " dam , Don what happened here ? " Father in Law , " big dummy tried to scale that fence and fell"
They both giggled and dude was taken to jail. I called my father in law SIR till the day he died. I will have to start a story thread about him sometime.I started dating his daughter in high school when a convicted killer that had threatened him and his family at trial escaped prison 3 times and he caught the guy every time. Not , TBI or the FBI,
