Man Rayzor that stinks, no wonder they have huge turnover at those places. 140 for selling a car isn’t really commission it’s a joke. Pretty standard commission in the business now days. But a good salesman will able to sell 20 of those and few higher checks to pay the bills. Had a friend that started out in real estate business about the same time I got into the car business and he would thank and laugh at me every time he saw me. He would rib me and say that because of car salesmen and their reputation he only had to sell one house a month to make a living,

A 150 minimum commission is pretty standard. If it’s on a busy day it really costs the salesman money. I think at every store there are a couple guys doing good and a ton making 3500-6500 a month.

That’s tough you can get about any entry level b to b sales job making 6500 a month and not work nights or weekends.

That's a minimum. How much if you give the customer the full workover, extended warranties, add ons, 2500 tint job, the little package of charging cables, etc all the stuff at the bottom of the sticker, scratch and ding coverage etc

Wawi we sell trucks, and have warranties. We don’t have any of that other stuff. I have 27 vehicles out myself this month. I think I’m averaging around 400. That’s on the low end honestly for me. With everything that’s going on in the world we are not marking vehicles up very much at all right now. Just trying to turn inventory quickly.

On YouTube there is a channel called "Customer States" for vehicle repairs. Funny stuff. After using all my free oil changes on my Rav4, I scheduled another one with the dealer (Bill Penny Toyota). Go in and the service ticket had close to $700 in additional "Customer Requested" service items. I told them to just give my car back to me and I would find a reputable mechanic. If you are ever in the Huntsville, Al area and need work on a Toyota, call DK Automotive.
Birds of a feather, flock together.

The best is window etching. Where the VIN is etched into the glass. The dealer charged $350 for it.
The sales manager would give me a small piece of paper with strips of plastic film etched with holes. You'd stick these stripes on the glass. Rub it with what looks like a big Chapstick. Give it a minute and BAM....etched windows.
Cost $3 each car. $347 bucks profit.
Almost as dirty dog as charging $450 for some no name cheap wax make ready smeared the car with. Saying some kind of BS like it'll last three years. When it'd really last two months....if you parked it in a climate controlled garage.

I mentioned the package of charging cables because despite all my diligent crossing off of stuff that slipped by me on last track. They listed it as upgraded charging station. The truck did have alot of plugs so I thought it was just that. Then after I get truck home I find a baggy with 4 or 5 charging cables in it.... none of which fit my phone by the way. 295 bucks lol. Tricky folks over at shotenkirk....

Dodge dealer in Temple.
Finance manager routinely ran 2-3 extra points on the interest rate. Bank would buy the note at say 7%. The finance manager would add 3 and would slide the paperwork across his desk and people would gladly sign it. Any points over the bank buy rate was free money. Lots of free, glorious, money.

I just want them to make it off someone other than me because my heart can’t handle thinking I’m getting worked over LOL Also, the main thing that makes it so bad it how damn pushy they are. Flat out aggressive when you tell them you don’t want any of that chit. That’s what gets me the most

If the OEM is running a Nat'l promo Rate and you are submitted for that plan, you either qualify or you don't. If you do, they cannot legally bump the rate. The key is, if they actually submitted you for the promo rate. This is where knowing your credit score really helps and also knowing what score it takes to qualify. Just a small buying tip that can save you some big dollars. And yes I have a bunch of stories. I know this because I was a finance mgr for a Honda Dealer.
