I was there a couple of weeks ago for a few hours and saw no bait in the water. Wondering if the mullet are running. Thanks.

I was down there Tuesday a week ago. No bait but I did see mullet running off of the Jetties at Packery. I went as far as the little shell. Got stuck when my 4wd went out. Bummer.
I fish on a 14 ft piece of plastic.

Happened to me around the 30 one time. Thought I was in low lock but the front wheels weren't pulling. Luckily, made it out without getting stuck. Packery bridge was a zoo when I went down. I figured there was something running. I might be hitting PINS this weekend. Supposed to rain, but that might be a good thing since I'm running 2wd now. I'll reply here if I see anything in the water. Thanks for the update.

Made it to PINS today. Water looked good with bait moving around. Whiting were around. No hard heads. Set up around the five. Lots of folks out, campers too, but it wasn’t bad at the five. This was my view looking North.

Shouldn't have any trouble seeing were you need to fish, was it yellow flag? Thanks for the report. Went to St Joe a couple weeks ago. Didn't see any bait but caught a couple trout on spoons. Good luck...

We have family coming in Saturday, and I was planning on cooking. I mentioned to the better half that it might be a good weekend on the beach. She not only greenlighted but encouraged me to go. So go I plan to do. Don't know much about pomps and thought I might try to target them if any are around. I have a TFO 11' with a Blue Yonder reel and a Tica 8' spinning rod with a Penn 704z. They are the only two rigs I have that I can get some distance on. I normally fish with a 6501 on a 7' medium heavy rod. If any of you have any pointers on pomps, I'd appreciate any advice you'd be willing to offer. Thanks.

Sorry. No report this weekend. Got to the beach and quickly realized it was Sharkathon weekend. Headed back home to AP.

Decided to go today around noon. Check in for the tournament was one at padre bali, so the sharkers were clearing out when I got there. Water was clear to the beach. Whiting were there. Thought I had a good fish at one point, but when it sucked down on the bar, I knew what I had. Lots of bait in the water. I was using prepackaged pomp rigs with sandflea fishbites and tipping with shrimp. Started with a 3 oz weight but switched to 4. Had to leave at 3:30 to make it home by 5, but I was down to using one rod because the whiting bite was so strong. Also picked up a juvenile cobia. That was a first for me. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2024/10/full-100487-246967-img_0476.jpeg) Beautiful afternoon on the beach.
