Right now I'm optimizing for fun, not necessarily for production. It's more like a growing healthy plant. Production is a side effect of a happy plant. The objective is to grow a plant in a near perfect environment. Getting as close as you can to a perfect plant. Extremely fun hobby. Yes it is. I'm enjoying it for sure.

I've been doing it off and on since 2008. Kept a journal(s). For around $3000 you can have a squared away grow room of your dreams. Built in that is. If you go the tent route add another $500.

Hey GH, I was looking at my "blurple" light last night and I got to wondering what about it sucks? Does it just come down to the power and how much actual light it's putting out or is there something more technical about the spectrum or something?

They made the, 'Blurple' led lights to sell them. One COB has much more LEDs then a Blurple on one chip. The true test. You'll need a lux meter (it's a requirement of a tool). The light brightness can be measured using different metrics. I like the plain old Lux meter. Here's an example, https://www.extech-online.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=308A healthy plant in veg needs about 30k to 45k lux. In flower, 65k. Your blurple produces about 15k lux. Just enough for sprouts.

Water, PH, fertilizer, tools, and needed additives. How to read and adjust for the schedule of the General Hydroponics line of fertilizer.

Questions, have you tested the PH of the soil? Certain nutrients are only available for uptake in a very small window of PH. Wood ash will sweeten the soil. More alkaline. In the areas the onions flourished. I'd test the PH of that spot.

Thank You, TBird. I've had them awhile. No telling how many years. The smaller one was rooted from the bigger. The neat thing is that they bloom when day and night even out to 12/12. Right around Christmas. Winter solstice.

Crapyetr, put green tomatoes in brown paper sacks. The Trapped ethylene gas will speed up the ripening process
I'd Tack That!!
