So its obvious to me many are oblivious to their trucks headlights and fog lights at the boat ramp. Almost all events I have fished at this year I have had to deal with trucks with there lights on shining down the boat ramp. How do we solve this? Does anyone think leaving your head/fog lights on at a boat ramp is somehow helping?
BFL regional this past week, launched 3 days and each day someone had there truck pointed at the ramp with there lights on. Same thing on Rayburn
Do we need sign put up? to remind some of us that it is dark and out and head lights are on? I understand DRLS maybe on, but these are not as bright as normal headlights.
I try to inform people, but I'm often met with an emotional reply if i say anything.

Lots of newbies out there. Same people who cut you off going down the bank or pull right in on you. Common courtesy isn't so common anymore.

There should be a sing at every ramp. People are dumb and are only thinking about themselves.

I usually let them do their thing, if I'm back down a ramp and they are next to me, I put on my sunglasses. Yes, I have done this several times. Life is too short to worry and get folks all up tight. If they ask for help or seem to be in a bind, I'll help them.
And yes, I've seen signs at a few ramps already.

Most of the guys backing the boats down are not the same ones paying for the truck they’re driving. Most don’t know how to turn off the lights in the first place. I always turn mine off before my partner gets behind the wheel to back me in. Fortunately for us, my truck will turn off all the lights when he gets out. Otherwise we’d be jump starting the truck every weekend. He never shuts off the lights, never locks the doors. He’ll he even forgets to run the windows up.

Believe it or not, you CANNOT completely shut off the headlights on my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The only way that I could shut them off is to keep a flashlight shining on the dash daylight sensor. Then again, I don't remember the last time I launched my boat early enough in the morning that the headlights were on.

I mean at the BFL regional... these guys are not newbies. They sit in parking lot shining there lights at the boat ramp. Understand DRLs can be tough to turn off. But everyone should be able to turn headlights off.
Fog lights are often forgotten. Its just common courtesy to not leave your headlights on, They do not help anyone. In the case that happened this past week. i was basically looking into the sun trying to walk up the dock to the ramp. Course it also made it hard to see backing down too.

I don’t worry about the ones shining down the ramp it’s the ones that have their headlights on once they’re backing in.

My buddy couldn’t turn his off either on his last truck. He still leaves them on when driving down though because he can’t see w/out them. He tries to launch at daylight now, hoping to avoid pizzing off the masses.

I don’t worry about the ones shining down the ramp it’s the ones that have their headlights on once they’re backing in. same principle, they both blind you. Just seems to be a problem that is growing and I doubt we can stop it. So many are just unaware of what they are doing, some forget, a few can't, and i think a few think its helping someone. U don't need your headlights on when getting your boat ready to launch, or once your have started backing down.

You mean the ones that have a specific way to turn them off? I think my brother's truck you have to click the emergency brake down 1 click. I've seen other that you have to click the dome light 4 times. A bit weird, but there was a way.
