Decided to take a chance with Granger today since Decker is closing. Got to the lake at 7:30, water was in the low 80's and mostly clear. It's been a while since I've been on this lake, but I still had a half dozen brush piles marked. Managed to cover most of these locations in addition to standing timber and lost a 1/2 dozen lures in the process. The fish were in the cover but finding any decent size fish was difficult.
Ended the day with 28 crappies with only 3 big enough to take home. I told the wife we're having fish tonight but that she would have to pick hers up at the store.
The hair jigs (various colors) with 32nd oz. weights worked the best. To get the bait down quicker, I added a split shot about a foot up from the lure. The fishing should get better once it cools down a little more.
