After a disappointing trip to what's left of Choke Canyon and only catching dinks there 2 weeks ago I decided to pass on the lakes and give the Nueces River a shot Saturday morning before the Aggie game at 3:30. Tied on a topwater and a stick bait and headed out. Fish were biting right away. I caught well over 20-25 bass with most being under a pound. Finished with 7 fish over a pound, 2 of which were just short of 3 pounds and was surprised to get a 6 pound 2 ounce kicker bass. Also caught one nice channel cat and a bunch of beautiful sun perch. Great day on the water!
