For you fellow TFFs listing boats on that thread, are you getting a ton of spam text?
I keep getting text saying "Hey, I got cash in hand an want your boat...can you follow this link to give me the hull report before I come give you cash?"
When you do the google search of the links, it's always a spam site that is associated with stealing your credit card information after you enter it.
I know you can get print outs of your motor information in terms of performance, RPMs, hours etc...but have never heard of a "hull report."

If you post your phone number anywhere online, not just TFF, you WILL get spam texts. I 100% never post my phone number or email address. They can reach me through a PM and then we can exchange phone numbers for a voice call.

Took my phone number off my ad because I have been contacted twice by scammers.....

I figured as much, just didn't want anyone falling for it. Wasn't this bad at all the last time a sold my boat on TFF. Thought adding words as numbers would help when listing my cell, but apparently that didn't help lol. Went ahead and took the number off.

I lead em on like I have a piece of chicken tied to a string. Haha.

Most scammers are not from tehe US. Ukraine and Russia have always had a lot of scammers. We should send Ukraine some more money to run their scamming operations

There are all kinds of scams out there for sure, haven't got this one yet but I used to get a ton of robo call telemarketers and scammers. I just block them. I work by a rule with my phone that if you call me twice and don't leave a message you get blocked. Robo callers use a ton of local/regional numbers to try to sneak past you catching them. I just keep blocking them and eventually they run out of numbers and can't call anymore.

I got a call last night on my boat for sale asking for report , I sent him the one I have and he wanted another different one which cost 49.00 , I refused and he said he couldn't come then.

Yes this week I got the same one. I knew something wasn’t right and even said they sounded like a scam. There’s no carfax type info for boats. I googled the website and and showed it was a scam on google.
