You might not be able to tell by the taste but the poop can get very gritty sometimes where it feels like the shrimp was dipped in sand before I ate it. I'm all about the de-pooping.

This is not a mental thing, it's a food safety thing. Many shrimp digest things you wouldn't wish were in your system. It's best to flush them out via the vein removal.

Are you eating raw shrimp?

No, even if you cook it down, you're still eating crud in their system.

Y'all ain't supposed to be eatin' dookie.

A shrimp that is still packing is commonly known as bait. Clean it up for human consumption and it turns into food.

Next we will all be called sissies for purging crawfish? Removing silver skin from deer? Bloodlines from striper?

I guess spending an extra 3 seconds to remove the dookie from your food makes you a sissy? I’m not a peasant, I won’t eat [censored] food

I'll be eating some beautiful fried and butterflied shrimp tomorrow evening at the Flying Fish in Arlington.

Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

You want to go to the trouble? Go for it.
When you eat shrimp here it’s gonna be as is.

My labs ate 4,000 lbs of shrimp heads. They loved the crunch.
