With the 230 teams in the high school, the 100 teams in CAST couples and the 40 fishing the 43rd Little Dixie open this weekend it is going to get hammered .

370 boats fishing for the 13 keepers that swim in that lake. Sounds terrible.

We had three keepers for close to 6 pounds Saturday. I caught a 2.5 pounder Sunday morning before my partner's lower unit disintegrated and we trolled four miles back to the ramp. We each caught our first smallmouth. I think I caught seven smallmouth in four days. We weighed two of them Saturday. It wasn't great, but we like Texoma better than the @π©%& Red River.

It’s always been tough to catch quality out there during the late summer/fall transition time. IMO, mid November to about February is the time Tex is at her best.
I haven’t looked at the lake levels, but if there’s enough water to get into the river and access the Oxbows that’s where I’d be right now. Gotta “jump” the sand bar then it drops to 8’. If you know you know.

Make sure you have an airboat on speed dial.

The lake was getting beatdown on Saturday! I subbed in for a HS team and there were boats in every pocket, cove, marina, etc. We did manage to catch a few smaller ones but nothing really to brag about. Heard more locals say it's been off this season and fishing has been very tough in September.

I prefished three full days and had two keepers, got lucky and had 17 lbs over two days, there were 9-10 lb sacks inside top 10.

My daughter and I fished the CAST championship this past weekend. Totally agree with the pressure on Saturday. There were boats everywhere, mostly high schoolers. Also looks like the lake is turning over mid-lake and west. We scratched out two keepers for 5# on Saturday. Sunday was a little better with 5 keepers for 11#, but still really tough. Beautiful weather though.
