We aren’t very excited about it How long have you been out there? Since may, this will be our second hurricane. We are inland and aren’t as susceptible to wind and surge. Still forecasting over 10” plus of rain here

So unusual for a storm to have such a pronounce west to east track. Almost always in the past a more northerly path with a little variation to the west or east.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

That takes the storm across the widest part of the Gulf with warm water all the way. Satellite images show good structure for fairly rapid intensification. Could be a real problem maker for the Tampa area.

Hate the damage of hurricanes, but southcentral Texas and the hill country need a lot of RAIN. Was hoping for a wet fall. Looks like that is not going to happen!

They are predicting landfall in the Tampa Bay area. They have a population of over 5 million. This could be a bad storm. Company I worked for had 2 plants just east of Tampa and coworkers brother lived in St.Pete. People at the plants always said a hurricane that went just north of the bay would be a real problem and worst scenario.

The entire hill country and Edward's Plateau needs it. I skipped my normal trips to Buchanan this year due to the water level. My brother lives on the road to Inks state park about 4 miles south of 29. We can be on Buchanan in 30 minutes. Early summer are the prime months for a system to hit Texas. Once we get later in the year the steering currents shift to the east.

At landfall they are saying a Cat 3 - winds 130-160mph.

Saw this morning that forecasts show it may have shifted slightly south of Tampa and is a good thing. I guess we’ll find out in a couple days.
