I fished Saturday and didn't even bother using the scope to look for bass.

Went fish newly flooded brush on the west end of the lake and caught 1 3.5 lber.

Then moved to the main lake and fished the outer submerged brush with chatterbaits and jerkbaits. Caught 8 fish over 4 lbs, jumped off 1 6 lber and had an easy DD come out of a bush and nose up to my jerkbait but wouldn't touch it. Followed it about 10' and then slowly swam off.

Went looking for crappie and put 12 nice fish in the livewell. Decided I didn't feel like cleaning them so tossed them back.

Went offshore with a C-Rig and caught 2 - 5 lbers the first 10 minutes and then didn't get another bite for the next 2 hours.

Had a little over 24 lbs on my biggest 5. Not a great day on Thomas, but would be a great day on just about any other lake.

Only bad thing is the 8 or so 4's that I caught came off one area about 70 yards wide. Went back Sunday morning and caught 1 - 2 lb fish in that same spot. Didn't get bit anywhere else.

Water was just about as pretty and clear as I've ever seen it on the lake.

So much for the days of going out and hitting some rock piles when no one but us locals knew about Thomas.

on tuesday and wednesday the visibility was maybe 8 inches at best. Much cleaner than I was expecting by all the pics I'd seen beforehand. Amazing how many bass are out there around nothing just roaming around.

Have the masculinity challenged “hood rats” shown up there yet? We have a member looking for a peaceful and quiet place to retire, can’t be any music playing dorks there though!

Clear is relative. Visibility was as high as I’ve seen it except for when it reached 75% capacity several years ago.

I know I watched several fish come up and eat my jerk bait. I can’t tell you the last time that was possible.
