Chuck Foreman of the 70s Vikings will always be my favorite running back.

I lived and died multiple times with the Vikes as a kid, so did all Minnesota fans.

However, this topics names the 2 best backs ever, Barry Sanders and Earl Campbell.
As far as I'm concerned, as to all the great, GREAT back ever in the NFL, Barry and Earl were the 2 best.

As to the new guy, if he's a combo of the two, yep, he's got a bright future.

Then again, isn't the NFL a passing game and penalty game now, much more than "handoffs"?

Defenses have gotten smaller and quicker to rush the QB and defend the pass.
You now have great pass rushers who aren’t good at stopping the run and smaller strong safeties and smaller linebackers.
This young man has the sort of punishing running style that hurts the modern NFL defense.
Not sure how good he is at catching the ball; but he’s a bigger, faster, quicker Christian McCaffrey.

In my mind, Adrian Peterson was the best ever. I do see some similarities…the ability to bounce off while accelerating….very special athletic gift.

Against Utah State. there has been hundreds of incredibly talented backs in college over the last 50 years, to crown this kid the next Barry Sanders, Earl Campbell, better than CMAC is ridiculous. I wonder what kinda numbers Saquon Barkley would have put up against these scrubs he’s playing.

Nobody said he’s the next xyz…just has attributes of some of the best.
