Comanche Creek opened today. There were 150 boats on the water. How was the bass fishing on opening day? Bank fishing was slow, but the bass anglers I talked with had success with fish to 4 pounds. If you go this weekend please report how you do.

It was great. Crowded as heck, but there is something about this place that anglers can fish elbow to elbow without any bickering and stare downs with hands on hips like you get at Fork. Lots of good democrat and Aggie jokes told, no one hollared over head lights on at the ramp, lots of Hispanic music up the creek and no one drowned.

So a lot of the 150 boat owners were “teleworking” today?

It was fun Thursday everyone seemed to be having a great time catching fish pretty consistently. Lots of laughs and joke cracking with guys I’ve never met. Even David Welcher caught a fish which is pretty amazing!

They should wait till November to open. Let them spread out. It's not even fair

I got an invite to go after some of the bass, so I went with my friend this morning. My friend caught over 20 fish. I caught 3, including the smallest fish of the day. All the fish were under 3 pounds. Lots of boats in the area. The consensus was that fishing was slower today compared to the past few days. I tried some fly fishing, but no success today. Still a fun trip.

It's funny that you ask, I was there Friday, everyone behaved well. Launch went quick. There were a couple people that took a bit but I understand as they don't speak English and piling 5 people into a 12 foot boat along with cast nets and coolers takes a minute. I give it an A-

I’m sure that no one was offended. It’s just the great government looking out for what’s “best” for us all.

I like to fish the lake in the summer. I wish they would open back up all year.

Wished the MLF team event would have went later into the week and fished there for the end of their event, can't imagine the pissing and moaning the locals would have done

Who knows it could happen , bring then in September after it has sat for 6 months .
