Replacing a hub, bought same make/model but I can only get it about 3/4 the way on, (1/2 to 3/4” short of all the way). Spindle is straight 1 3/8 and package says “fits 1 3/8 taper to 1 1/16”, is this the problem even though it’s the same make/model? Thanks in advance!

If the axle is not tapered, the tapered hub isn’t gonna fit. If by “straight” you mean regular ol axle with a tapered shaft, check to make sure the spindle is VERY CLEAN, and no burrs. Also try dry fitting the bearing to the races without the hub to make it easier to see if they are fitting correctly.

it sounds like you have an axle with a straight stub axle, not a tapered stub axle. if this is correct, you bought a hub that fits a tapered stub axle, not a straight stub axle

Thanks for the replies! Found the problem, a couple burrs needed to be taken care of. I think I’ve got it whipped.
