Lake is turning and many of the south creeks are tore up, not much going on with the south bank. Look at murrell, and any of the areas on the north bank that might hold sandbass. I can say there was allot of them on the buttom in the north east corner of the dam, and down the bank going West in @15 ft of water before sunrise. Rock ledge had then on the top as well, if you can go scouting on Friday to get the best edge for Saturday. Three guide boats were on the end of murrell point mid morning. With the lake turning it really puts the fish on the run. Bass are shallow, and bait it running for O2 rich water. Scott's, and silver lake are turning but now and your wasting your time anywhere near then. Dove is close behind, didn't check up the lake above dove. North banks are the best for green fish, get out the thumper and let it sing. Had three really good days this week fishing for bass, and sky of really good smallies landed.
Take care all .

Went out Wednesday morning 7 am till 12pm. I didn't find fish east of the island first thing in the morning. I went to murrell point and not much there either. We did find tons of fish on several humps out west of the rockcrusher area. It was 5 dinks to 1 keeper. Find the ones 20' to 22' on top of those humps and you can find them. Livescope helped see that they were just cursing through in large schools. Meadowmere was no go also. We kept moving from place to place to see if they would stay put, but it was a rough day for any large fish. But for catching fun the humps at rockcrusher were it for us. 3/4oz slab, white or chrome seemed to be ones. I did see a group of 3 boats off Sandbass point, 11 am ish but didn't go over to see if they were catching anything. Hopefully Saturday will be more productive for the CAST volunteers.

Fished the bank at Lakeview this morning, got a couple sandies (small) and a few bass (4 total) the biggest was maybe 1.5 lb. Little bait was there, and and the sandies came up twice, going immediately down and away. Bite was from 7:20 to 7:45a approx. and done - cant wait for this high pressure/sunny day/no rain to move on out.

Thanks for reports - I'll be out there Friday with a buddy and also Saturday for CAST
Wind will be out of northeast, which i think is unusual lately - not sure how that will affect the white bass
We are more looking to catch than keep so the little ones will do
I'll try to make a report Friday night
Some people just like catching. I like fishing.

Back at Lakeview again this morning. Last of my physical therapy, I have to go back to work on Monday.... Nice SE breeze, lake is visibly dropping every day it seems. No real evidence of bait, and no surface activity visible, but managed to pull 7 decent sand bass (CNR'd) and a couple small bass. Best bite window was 7:10 to 7:30, then stopped.

Went out with my friend and we found a few sandies on the north end of the dam at DAYLIGHT We lost them and went to some waypoints to check. It was around this time that the mechanical failure of my power button on main electronics was stuck and being pressed intermittently. It's under warranty and the good news is I was able to export waypoints before it became unusable. We were also able to find the hump in front of Northshore trail. That hump was loaded. A bunch of boats were peacefully sharing the space with some friendly banter. Was a great time except for one incident where another boat came in and someone got too upset about something. Thankfully everyone involved went in different directions. Y'all be respectful out there! We caught some small largemouth bass on crappie jigs down by the dam. Caught 50 or so white bass across the various spots mostly on bomber slabs, chart and other silver and blue but many were also caught on prosise small spoon/blade double rig (see his pic). We threw back anything that wasn't obviously a keeper and a few that obviously were Friend was really dialed in on the live bait for catfish after a big one got off the hook. Unfortunately we didn't get a second chance. But we have a fish story

CAST event was fun. Didn't have too much trouble with wake boaters AFAIK. But I wasn't on the boat until the event was over - but fishing and catching both happened! I think nobody got hurt, nobody got mad, and everybody got full on some Fishes and loaves. And really good bbq. I was on the water early to sort out the electronics. Lowrance fs elite 9 is under warranty but that doesn't stop mechanical failure of the power button. Managed to get waypoints in phone app. Got the honor to serve a 5 or 6 year old young man who wasn't too keen about riding in the boat. That was ok we were able to catch some bream and a tiny catfish right there off the bank at Meadowmere park pavilion #1. Another captain came back and his guest caught a very nice blue catfish on shad that i estimated at 6 lbs. And that captain was able to successfully get my guest in his boat to move it. Baby steps and fine work! The awards ceremony was amazing for me. I know the love I have for my own & i could see love and gratitude in every participant's eyes. After we were done eating, my guest's older brother who was college aged accepted my invitation to chase some white bass. I could tell he loved fishing & we found them again in the same spot as day before. They were big this time! I am gonna respect my new friends' privacy & leave the pics of them out. There may be pictures of CAST event participants and activities, be on the lookout for those! My guest and I boated around 10 and kept 6. Here is a quick splice of several nice fish that day. I started with Boston and youtube got me through ac DC and Ozzie somehow. The sandbass loved it. https://youtube.com/shorts/k_Wltsl66P0?si=RO7mVOrCXi5sZ_brCaught 40 or so in a couple of hours, laid back pace anchored down on a windy day. 75% of fish were keeping size. Took home about 13 or so. Was lazy and used bomber slabs directly on the ugly green braid. If they are tore up by hook more likely to keep. We eat em! Great day see y'all out there!

Fished for the green fish early, and then went scouting for sandbass. Found Magnum sandbass at the hump I referenced 9-17-24. South side east of the island. I was up on top of the hump, the fish were stacked in the deeper water just to the south of the hump. 2hrs of casting 100ft out and dragging it back up the hump, and I literally didn't miss one for the first 45 minutes. Then I would have a cast here and there with no hits. I would simply reel two to three cranks and let the bait flutter back to the bottom. I could see fish below me but for some crazy reason vertical jigging sucked. Don't know why, but sometimes you have to adjust. Too many pleasure boats out, and I will prob be sore from fighting the waves. I checked the humps up the lake and they were empty, murrell has stragglers but no schools that I could see. Bait has moved back into Scott's, so the lake turning has progressed. I'm still fishing on the north bank for the green fish in the cleaner water. Lastly, I have been spot checking the crappie and there are some donkey crappie on ledges. The brush have crappie, but the magnum crappie are on lone straggler wood near some kind of point or ledge. Caught many that would make an awesome dinner, but I just didn't want to clean fish. Caught about a dozen like this and it really gets me pumped up when I see one of these big ones. I did see a crappie guide with a customer out, so I know they did well. Take care all.

Fished today and with the front the birds moved in. Lots of birds, so always keep an eye out for any bird sitting on the surface of the water. Looked around on the lower end for sandbass, and didn't see anything. We had high winds last night and the lake is very stained. Take care all, That's all I have that might help. Bass bite was good!

Thanks for the reportt, was hoping you were able to go
I understand the sandbass will eventually be in the creeks - before then where will they go when they abandon the summer areas on main lake?

Thought I would add a Funny pic.. Going to hit it hard in the morning, and then go way up the lake and check on things on the very upper end.
