OP lconn4 TFF Guru L Joined: Dec 2012 Posts: 24,159 Cherokee County	hours of my Florida vacation… Left home at 7::00 a m… all systems go. Pensacola Welcome Center… in all the years I’ve made the trip had never stopped there that i remember. Remember the first year fishing Flamingo and there were sea turtles coming into the area in mass.. huge. Have a picture of one somewhere that was right beside me and stuck its head over the side of my kayak to check it out.. old saying that the turtle is your only friend at sea.. never understood why.. Gives you a better idea how big they are. A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated. Quite a haul At least once and usually twice a year for the last ten years.. before that every weekend for 10 years.. I was in bad physical shape when I went this past June.. that tarpon the first day did more damage… holding on for life for over an hour.. Played go pro video from tarpon this past June… just took picture of laptop screen.. That shark came up to inspect my kayak and then turned on a dime… the tarpon was 30 yards away.. This is where fish went behind me and then to the other side as I have to hold rod in weird angles as line and rod were against the two rods I had in crate behind me… almost dumped.. Any way… it happens fast and I’ll figure out how to pat video some day and you will hear how hard the rods in back recoiled when I got rod back in right hand.. this stuff happens a lot when the tarpon is near you.. Thought I wanted to guide the rat one time but it would only be a matter of time before someone got hurt.. Picture above was about the third time one of the sharks was right on the tarpon.
