I’m not in the food game so it doesn’t impact me but I think it should be maybe more restricted when it comes to leaving those reviews.
I’ve seen too many really good places to eat get these 1 star reviews thrown in. It’s always the same type of people. Fat female, mostly purple haired, that thinks because they are spending their big $45.00 that they should be treated like royalty.

If they are going to leave a chitty review like that, they should have to come speak to the owners to verify it’s even true.

These crazy women could f up something a family has poured their whole life into.

Forgot to add, if you’ve had a bad experience at one of these places and youre wife tells you on the way home, “I’m going to put a bad review on this place” pull over and tell her she is walking home if she does.

You take them with a grain of salt. The great think is they do it to every place so I don't think many pay much attention. Usually it starts with a price complaint then goes off into a shpew of nonsense. I try and be measured in my responses but occasionally one makes me mad and I just can't help myself.

Never left one and don’t look at them-

This never put any stock in reviews ain't got no time for that...But I have a lot of customers tell me they chose me cause my reviews they are shocked when I tell them I never look at them....I just do my thing...

Mom and pops love to pump their own reviews up and bash their neighbors it's a thing

My wife looks at reviews for everything, restaurants, hotels, yada yada. I try to tell her that most of them are likely , and real reviews vs fake ones are indistinguishable.

Dude it's crazy my brother will be like let's go to this place it's got good reviews I'm like it sucks let go to this place I know it's good and he be like they have bad reviews gotten to the point I give up....

I’ve left more positive reviews, than negative. Only business that received a negative, was a car dealership.

I get irritated when my business gets a bad google review and I don't even know who the hell they are! I have a few 1 star reviews and didn't know any of them except for one. Google really doesn't even let you dispute them that I know of. If anyone knows how to get rid of the reviews that aren't even about us I'd love to know

If you're the Google-verified business owner, you can respond to a review and your response will be below what they wrote. So you could do that and say it was another business they were talking about. If someone is reading reviews, they'll definitely read your response on a bad review.

I leave reviews occasionally, mostly to warn people of unexpected things. I dealt with a junk yard that had extremely confusing procedures, so I left a review to try to let people know what to expect. Also had a cashier at a store try to keep my gift card that still had money on it once, and I certainly left that in a review. And I'm sure that was on purpose because someone else had left a review saying the same thing just a week before.

I've only left one restaurant review I think, but it was the same kind of deal. It had gotten very popular because of some magazine write-up (that they probably paid for), and my cousin wanted to go. It wasn't anything like what I was expecting and certainly wasn't good enough to be popular.

I don't know if you can get rid of reviews, but if you claim the business through google (somehow), then you can at least respond and your response will show below the bad review. It's also nice to sometimes thank the positive reviewers.

Same here. And I will tell my wife to keep her pie hole shut. If she doesn’t like a restaurant, I just won’t take her there again. I speak with my wallet.
