The basic fundamentals of football is blocking and tackling, and the Cowboys are getting their butts kicked here, and Dak does none of that.

I do realize that. I also see the highest paid player in the NFL (let that sink in) who can't elevate his play or his offense. He repeatedly throws behind receivers, even two weeks in a row misfiring on passes to Zeke in the flat, easy passes for an NFL quarterback. His stats often look good on paper because he pads them after the game is out of reach and the opposing team begins playing softer, prevent defense like last year's Green Bay playoff game and yesterday's game. Dallas had 6 points after three quarters yesterday.

I don't doubt his effort, we have watched him since 2016 and we know what he is, a little above average qb that needs a lot of talent around him to be successful. And he wilts in big games and playoff games. His thousand yard stare is his famous playoff face. Jerry was insane giving him that big contract. He should have let this year play out.

Micah must be the easiest player in the NFL for a good team to scheme out of the game. He disappears frequently. Generational player, lol. And next year Jerry will make him the highest paid defensive player, what a joke.

McCarthy's offense is stale. Where is the motion? Why can't he scheme players open?

It's frustrating, on paper Dallas has a few really good players, they just are not playing like it right now.

Dak didn't light it up but let's be honest. The defense has given up almost 1000yds combined from last 2 games. Let's start there.

I mean, Dak makes about the same as the entire starting defense. Their first half drives yesterday were 3 minutes - punt, 3 minutes - field goal, 3 minutes - fumble, 1 minute - punt, 2 minutes - punt, 20 seconds - field goal. The defense had no breaks at all and was playing an offense with last year's MVP and a RB that we could have had if Jerry wasn't an idiot. The defense isn't good, but it can't be good when you have 40% of the cap in 2 offensive players.

That's called the NFL. Dak's salary is not holding them back. Guess Burrow at 0-3 ain't worth tge money either? Or Jackson at 1-2. There are more examples. Dak did not play well for the most part but this month on his salary. Cowboys are in better shape than most teams salary cap wise. They have ability to restructure a lot of deals to create space. Look it up, it's all out there.

If I had to guess I'd say it's a team culture issue and now it's really showing itself. I think McCarthy is just riding out the year and has no real handle on the team. I think the real issue is Jerry.

100% Mark....

https://athlonsports.com/nfl/cowboys-country

Jerry is a football moron.... always has been. He's proven it countless times beginning with JJ. He let his ego and insecurities implode a team that might have won 5 Super Bowls and then went on to bumble around all the way to today. The record is demonstrative of this fact. Along the way he's made the team into a running joke and ruined the love and enjoyment of "his" Dallas Cowboys for many of us who were loyal, die hard life long Dallas Cowboy fans....55+ years for me.

The sad thing is this, if he passed away tomorrow I think Stephen would simply continue the same inept ownership practices. If you want to see how it's done simply go look how the Hunt family have operated the Chiefs since Lamar Hunts passing. Win or lose they have always been a class organization.

BTW, if you read the Cowboys boards you'll hear countless comments like mine....a couple on this bass fishing board.

They are far from a SB contending team.

About as close as the 49ers

The 49ers have been to like a half dozen conference championships in the last 10 years and 3-4 super bowls. Cowboys haven't been to 1 of either.

Past years don't matter all that matters is this year and both sitting at 1-2

"This is the same thing that happened last year with the Cowboys..

They get beat when they fall behind early and teams run the ball against them..

I think there's enough talent in Dallas to get things straightened out though" ~ Bill Belichick

Totally agree with this, but, are the coaches smart enough and have enough juice (all on 1 year contracts + "Jerry") to get it done. We shall see...

Lol....

You know, after 5 years in the middle of this chaotic mess, I'd imagine McCarthy (and his family) are about ready to move on.

He padded his resume a bunch....

Learned how to deal with an egocentric football idiot....

Learned how to deal with all the BS surrounding the 3 ring circus that is the JJ Dallas Cowboys....

And made life changing money for his family....

I'm pretty sure it's been worth the 4.5 years of his life (to date)...

At present, IF Mccarthy can figure out how to get this football titanic (created by the football village idiot) turned around he will certainly have proven he's up for any football head coaching position.

Thursday's game against the Giants will be interesting. A loss and the chaos will begin. I love a good chaos. Ha.

People would be going crazy burning anything with a star on it if they lose this Thursday. Burning any store that sold anything Dallas Cowboy related. Then lynch Jerry Jones

That won't happen. The sheep will keep following. Jerry made just as much money in the 4-12 campo years. I guess I'm a sheep for still watching. But I don't buy season tickets or don't buy Jerry's sales pitch.
