I know it wasn’t; I just couldn’t resist. roflmao The post was really for the angler that spent $1,200 on his rig (probably a fly angler). I just wanted to let them know the experience stuff can still catch fish like the cheap stuff. grin

Then ride a donkey out to the lake. With the cane pole. Because if you're riding in a $80,000 pick up...with the cane pole.

That's cheating the very idea. And besides, go the real ghetto. 6 feet of line you found, a small rock, bait bug you caught hanging off the side of a tree. Stick to anchor it..... Biggest large mouth I've seen in real life was caught that way.

Me and this rig has seen the world. Caught it all.

Then it finally hit me. I need to upgrade. Nothing at Wal-Mart compared to my Mitchell. Nothing. Bearings? What? Weighing nothing? What's this witch craft going on here?

Considering I used the Mitchell for over 20 years. I wanted a suitable replacement. Reels I never talk about.

My $50 UglyStik Elite carries a Daiwa Exist. My other $50 UglyStik has the Shimano Stella. Both in 2500. Reels that took years for me to save up.

I'm not discounting the lower end stuff. It's just not what I wanted. I wanted the tippy top, no doubt, no BS, best in the world. And they are a treat.

I want to see a picture of your biggest fish caught with a $850 dollar rod and reel .

I have a stocked lake available to me. It's not far. And I'm not taking pictures or video on federal property. No way in Hades would I post them if did. Just to have my reels ragged on. That's why I rarely mention them. Because someone, somewhere... Lets see you catch a 20 pound bass record or they're not worth it. Yuk-Yuk...

The throw lines. The bass...that was the private lake behind the Temple VA. Ever seen a picture? You better not have. The VA police will freak out over some old lady taking pictures of the flags out front.

Ever seen folks that'll mod their Shimano or Daiwa? They add bearings it didn't come with. Better gears and nicer spool. The deal with that. It's chasing the flag ship models. Only thing you can do with an Exist is buy an aftermarket spool. Same with the Stella.

I highly suggest as a bucket list item. Is feeling the absolute best reels in the world. You think your old reel is smooth. Nah, it's gritty. Compared to the bling-bling model. And they keep their value as much as a nice watch. The Exist is art. The Stella is nothing short of amazing.

I asked for a picture of your biggest fish caught with one of your $850 rod/reel combo's. The only picture you provided was a picture of a kastking reel. How come you can't post a picture of your stella/ exist reels? Lay them out on that table you just made and take a picture of them. Put your money where your mouth is or go eat crow

You caught me. I'm lying. I don't even fish and I'm not posting pictures to settle your curiosity. And your personal approvement means nothing to me. It truly doesn't.

Whoa, let's calm down guys. Everyone has the right to use what they want and it all catches fish. I just prefer a mis range $100 combo. I hate the plastic feel of cheap stuff.

Good grief. I’m new here, but maybe I’m on the wrong forum. Lots of bickering and criticism.

It is just good fishing talk among good anglers! I personally say you can never own enough fishing tackle. I have both expensive and cheap stuff! confused 3
